It would be back on topic if Wanderers and the various League teams memberships were mentioned as well. You seem to keep forgetting that part. I don't have ready access to those numbers - and welcome their inclusion by anyone who has.

Surely if they were good enough, they'd be the striker? Hundreds of matches are won by a CB scoring, with the striker doing fuck all in the same game. What ball skills are required of a tagger? Who says you have to have good ball skills to be a successful sports person? You raise a very pertinent question, in relation to AFL No, that's in relation to any sport. You don't necessarily have to have good ball-handling skills to be successful in that sport. Take your monocle off.

Edited by Funky Munky: 5/2/2013 06:12:57 PM It's a bit different. Bouncing a ball is one set skill. Goalkeeping is a combination of many skills. The point is, you can't just say "AFL players don't know how to do this". Of course they don't. They're playing a sport that doesn't require those skills. You can say that about any sportsman in the world, compared to any other number of sports they don't play.

The AFL doesn't have internationals... And no Soccer player knows how to bounce an oval ball correctly...what's your point. They play gealic Internationals with Ireland and don't need a squashed ball Exactly. They play a hybrid game internationally. Not AFL.

Shows how much lower the skill level is in soccer compared to AFL tbh. actually AFL players need coaching from Football players to be able to play in their own internationals. I thought this thread was more about making comparisons between the Wanderers and GWS. It seems a worthwhile thread. This thread is not making comparisons of any useful nature, that couldn't be consolidated into a single and easily accessible thread. Pointless to see the same thing repeated in both. But if someone wants to talk about the Wanderers in the context of what the Giants may or may not be doing, they won't be allowed to raise it on the AFL thread (under the normal rules of engagement). Since this thread is not doing that, perhaps the Wanderers can post in the Wanderers thread and Giants can post in the AFL thread. It's more efficient for all concerned as it reduces the posts by half (considering there ain't much in common between the two sports).
