The MH AAMI Park seating plan this year seems to have been greatly improved.

More GA access down the Eastern Wing and the Away seating area has been moved to the North-Western Corner.

Happy with those changes.

BTW Just noticing a trend, probably to be expected - the rate of membership take ups seem to be slowing, or particularly so for markets like Brisbane, given their big target and what not?

I guess it's to be expected - hitting your base of the first few thousand, via renewals and what not, fairly soon is to be expected? The hard part is building upon those numbers/that existing base, over these coming months?

Was kind of hoping Roar might be pushing the 4k mark, given how quickly they pushed to the first 3k - it's been nearly a month since then. Around a month is what it seemed to take to grow by the previous thousand. But still time. Their very ambitious 10k target seems ever more unlikely, but hopefully pushing past 8k still possible.

KiwiChick1 and co, Wellington seem to be tracking fine, given their realistic but still record setting (I believe?) target? More than half way there so just over one and a half thousand more needed. Within the means of achievable.

Hopefully all those sides hovering in the three thousands see a 'second wind' come closer to the season.

I got a strong feeling that Sydney FC, who are already tracking well, will see a second boost, once ADP and co return from overseas and more positive kudos flows on in a promising pre-season with this strong squad. Add to the fact that with Wanderers presence now, their success, that rivalry and the appeal of those derbies, may provide healthy competition and interest in Sydney's first A-L club? Pushing above 9k is entirely feasible, surely?

That's odd Joffa, the totals for your previous updates all were 57k something, but your latest update, with the additional numbers, actually sees your total fall to just over 55k? What's the 2k difference? I can only presume your previous totals were wrong/miscalculated but you only corrected now?

Not bad considering Sydney fc has a stadium twice as big as the wanderers and there is no members cap. Meaning there is no need to rush for memberships. No 2? Titles and average crowds would beg to differ

It is and it isn't, Minimalistix. It is, for the same old reasons why people pick at Sydney and Brisbane to a degree - poor per capita, if Victory and others do well - they should too... But 'it isn't' too, as they, many north of the border argue, don't have the 'membership culture' that the AFL states south of the border do. Ontop of that they are growing from a 'low base' and long undernourished base. That CAN be the fault of the clubs and Roar jacking up their prices one season saw a drop/damage done that took a while to reverse. But it's also from a culture, or lack of culture in this area, so those clubs are more building from base up, where others 'south' have fans who are used to being 'members' or 'membership schemes' with their 'AFL clubs' too or what.

If anything Wanderers being there is a benefit for all, especially SFC and hopefully that too is inspiring more to get on-board or back on-board with the SFC cause - now 'that those 'Westies' can potentially usurp them. ADP and co being there helps too ofcourse.

But the 'big ticket in town' appeal of the derbies etc... all helps.

SFC Fans can speak of this better, but 'The Cove' may even be more revitalised too, as they certainly don't want to be outsung/outdone by the new kids on 'the block'. And an improving Cove/Active Support can only in-turn help improve crowds as the atmosphere at SFC games only further improves.

No doubt Wanderers have had a positive impact across the league and even across the game. I'd argue they're both a direct and more indirect reason why memberships a tracking at an even higher rate this pre-season. The sky high ratings, crowds, media interest etc... Alot more buzz.

Hopefully that helps Mariners in their drive and everyone else.

And I'd rather not 'knock' any club, well not too easily, but more encourage our fellow A-League clubs. As it's only collectively that we're strong - not only so with the way our league continues to be structured and governed - but also the 'live together, die alone' motto.

It's also arguable that a strong SFC is good for the A-League. Although that argument may diminish somewhat with the successful second team. Still, SFC being up there lifts the interest in the A-League even more, when it's team in it's biggest market, is making waves.

Joffa, I asked before, but you didn't answer? :?

My tired eyes are unreliable, but why is there the differential downward? The 57k total was a total several of your posts previous to that one ALSO had. But then suddenly, last page, your new total was like 2k less? I added up the latter total and it was correct. Haven't done so with former totals. What's the difference? Or was it errant all along till you saw the correction?

Not trying to criticise or nitpick, on the contrary, I appreciate the updates but just found this curious. And my appreciating them is the very reason why I noticed and why I point it out to you now. ;)
