A rough estimation of last years total memberships is 74,000 which includes Perth.

With the Nux now at 2465 that brings this years total memberships to 61,659. 12,341 to go to beat last year.

IMO, 90k is achievable before the season starts

Sales ground to a halt since they hit the non-alcohol section

This total surely is a record number of total memberships for the a-league. It may also be a record average per club. Wont be long before nearing NRL[/quote]

Som interesting numbers in there though. Panthers and Eels have quite low numbers, not what i expected. If the Eels got a total of 11000 members last year im not sure how they are expecting to get to 40,000 in a few years. The benchmark really needs to be all clubs with a minimum of 7500 members. Hopefully by the time expansion rolls around each club is edging towards 10000 or more. The other thing to take into consideration here is that NRL and AFL memberships are significantly cheaper than the a-league ones.

Central Coast now over 3,300.

With 16 teams in the NRL, membership averages out to be 11,875 per club as compared to ~6,666 per a-league club (not including Perth) as it stands now using the current preseason sales (obviously this will increase before the season starts).

The total membership figures we need to shoot for to be on par would be 118,750. The a-league will be well short of this for the upcoming season but 2 to 3 years down the track who knows?

Another interesting observation is that 9 of the clubs had a decline in membership compared to the previous season based on 1 March 2013 data. Most notably Brisbane and Newcastle, wonder if the Jets members increase last season made up for the decrease in NRL memberships?? (doubt it but would like to think it did).

Member drives this Saturday!

Head along to Westfield Tuggerah or Erina Fair this Saturday between 12:00pm and 1:00pm to meet the Mariners at one of our two Membership drives.

In Tuggerah, Phil Moss, Patrick Zwaanswijk, Hayden Morton, Anthony Caceres, Michael Neill, Mile Sterjovski and Adam Kwasnik will be helping the Club build on its solid Member start.

Perth's lack of interaction rears its ugly head again.

iridium emailed them a few weeks back and apparently they said they were working on the renewals first before they could give a number on members.

Care to email them again iridium?

Well that's a big of a shock, revelation?

AU's all-time record is nowhere near that right? Something like 5-6k?

What is with these teams aiming for the 10k mark? Nothing like aiming reasonably high though I guess?

Next we'll find out Glory have 'a target of 10k' too - but that won't be announced till circa January at this rate, IF we're lucky?!



Fans and others have ALSO posted messages about it on their FB page, it seems. Stirred a slight discussion but it's all recent. Heck the club's very own membership packs announcement is recent. So I guess we just have to 'wait and see' a bit longer, there's alot of that going on over here? :lol:

Also, given they are 'still sorting' renewals apparently and have only JUST announced their new membership packs, it may be 'a bit early' embarrassing for the club to be 'announcing' any figures yet? :o :( Though tbh, via renewals, they should ALREADY be around the 2-3k mark, surely (Using AU and even Phoenix as slight indicators, as too Glory's previous marks around 5k?)?! :-s

Revealed: The Grand Goal 10,000 Rewards For Members

Sydney FC are pleased to announce some great prizes and giveaways to some of our lucky Members as we head towards our goal of reaching 10,000 Members for the first time in our history.

The Grand Goal 10,000 is our aim for the 2013/14 Hyundai A-League season and we will be rewarding our loyal Members with a series of fantastic prizes and experiences on the road to that target.

“We have some of the loyalist and best Members in the country and it’s only right that we reward their dedication and support, as well as create a bit of excitement about our Membership campaign,” said Chief Executive Officer Tony Pignata.

“This season is going to be the biggest year in the history of Sydney FC and the more the Members and fans can do to get behind us the better,” he concluded.

Members will be selected randomly each week to be rewarded with one of ten fabulous prizes including a post-match meet and greet with the Sydney FC players in the dressing rooms and an upgrading of their current Membership to a Premier Membership.

Member Darren Morris from Gladesville was the lucky recipient of the first prize of the giveaway last week, when he was picked out at random to win an 8-seater box at one of Sydney FC’s home games this season.

“I got a bunch of texts from my Cove mates saying I’d won,” said Darren, who has been a Member for the past four years.

“They saw it on facebook while I was at work so it was a massive surprise and it’s a quality prize.

“I’ll take some of my mates from the Cove, and some mates who don’t usually come to the games to try and get them hooked. I’ll maybe take the missus as well if she’s lucky.

The 27 year old has followed the club since day one and says he is looking forward to the season in a big way.

“I’m always optimistic at the start of the year, but it seems like they’ve brought in some good new players and if we can get off to a good start then anything can happen.”

“I think it’s always a good idea to reward the Members because a lot of club giveaways are only to recruit new Members.

Aufc have been pumping the $10k to one member if we crack 10k campaign all membership drive. I think they know now they won't make it but I do like the ambition and the promotion had been alot better this year

Thanks Schultzy. Ah, that makes sense and good to hear. Hopefully the club is learning and infact that's good to see across MOST of the league. Seems most clubs are improving in this area and in-turn most are seeing improved tracking that is seeing them set to push to new levels of membership in their short histories.

Glory may need to upgrade their Telegraph poll - as it seems the message is struggling to get through?

I understand in AFL land, that you can have a stadium membership (such as SANFL AAMI park membership or MCG membership) or AFL/SANFL membership and you can nominate which club you want to be included as a member for and you go onto their member tally. not sure if the club gets any funds though.

Does this happen with the A-League. I am assuming say members of SFS stadium are not counted as members of Sydney FC for example.
