No Idea really tbh. There has been a stronger membership drive. Pre season there was alot of hype around gombau, and the media has been alot better. Last year we only had 4500 members iirc? I think that was mentioned at the fan forum.

Actually it may not be THAT impressive, in context? :-k IIRC Schultzy, General Ashnak and some other AU fans discussed this circa earlier this thread or last year's thread? IIRC there was a figure around 8k a season or two ago, but that was INCLUSIVE of 3-game passes etc during the season. Not sure it included any form of junior memberships? You guys actually discussed this, covered this too when discussing that and another previous figure around 6.5/8k?
In terms of 'full' memberships, you may well have still broken your record, but now, as we've discussed, we can't know what memberships these 'counters' are NOW counting? It's presumed that with the season now under-way and most teams having hosted their first home game by now, there would be a natural further short term boost, but some of those sales may be for the recently released limited game packs that most clubs offer during the season. So IF that's the case then AU may still have several hundred if not more to go, to equal those records you guys have previously set?
But again, I suppose it depends on the actual break down of those figures and again, your 'base' figure of 'full memberships' seems good, tracking well, just like the rest of the clubs in the A-League. So still good going.
I just hope Ashnak, yourself or some of you guys can clear up the context for those past figures I refer to?
Edit: tbitm's figures had AU 'an estimated 8k' a couple season ago, though Ashnak said first page or two of this thread you guys actually had circa 5k past two seasons. :-k

I stand corrected:
Message: I would just like to pass on a big thanks for the continued up date of the membership tally, can you confirm if this is an all time record for the club? if not what is the record? Answer: Hi Schultzy, Thanks for your feedback, we appreciate your comments. This figure currently sits third behind our all-time record of 6,864 members which we reached in 2011/12. The second highest figure was in 2009/10 when the club had 6,749 members. With the majority of the season still to come, we are hopeful that we will be able to match the figures set in past seasons.
From red out loud. Must have been 5500 full season tickets that they said at the fan forum?
still. we should reach that by the end of the season.

still. we should reach that by the end of the season. Hmm thanks for that Schultzy. :) Ahh the recesses of my brain... so it IS around that 6.8k mark :-k Hmm yeah, I wonder how the 'break downs' compare - for instance, are there more 'full members' this time? Are AU higher than they were at this point, last season aka 'tracking well, for a new record'? Heck, I probably answer my own question, given they are just over 500 members off their record. MOST of those are 'probably' on some more substantive type of membership, less a few hundred on limited game packs, added to the counter more recently, circa first home games? So yeah, 5,500 or so full members, at the least - it's also not to say some full members haven't been signed up since either, same for all clubs.

Midfielder wrote:Wonders aloud what or where the other teams are at and if under a freedom of information request could the PG numbers be given... I guess we all do - it's been a while for all the A-League clubs - you notice how info has slowed to a snails pace or even a stop, in regards to member numbers, after a couple weeks into the season? Some may say due to the literal fact they DO slow significantly, once that period ends or what not, focus redirected. But same time, with the latter, the club coverage and focus DOES redirect to 'the main event' and so there would be 'some' increases but they just haven't been released yet. Including via those 3-game packs and now recently released, 'Christmas packs' and what not. But dare I say, for most clubs, the increase would only be a few hundred, most? :-k For instance I doubt either Newcastle nor Sydney FC, are above or too far above, 11k, yet? Roar may not reach 8k 'this season'? Even Victory may NOT reach their 23k target either? Phoenix may likely be JUST short of their 4k goal too or else, IF they HAVE reached it, they had surely better announce so? :-k And look at how slowly Heart's memberships have creeped up, recent times? They WILL hit a club record 7k, but at this rate that won't be before the New Year? Where as, in the Mariners case, they surpassed their 5k target ages ago - so they've long been in a kind of party/achievement mode since. :p None-the-less, with Glory if you or any fans, have Twitter, Midfielder - you can simply ask Glory's CEO on the Twitter link in Joffa's update post? As that's how we found out the figures in the first place! ;) Edited by gloryperth: 16/12/2013 06:39:48 PM

Sydney FC memberships have crept up to 10,580 now.
Heart's have increased by 12 to 6,932.
Very, very minor increases, updates, but SFC hasn't updated theirs in a while, so it's something?
And please stop asking about Glory's memberships - at the moment I don't think any of us could give a flying... with some of us perhaps wondering why we even did... But anyway, hopefully the right thing prevails and ALL those involved are cleared out.
Back on track - Those are the latest updates Joffa. ;)

We have a very good core turning up of 14k even though we are playing shite and pretty much the only entertaining game we've played this season was the 3-2 against Victree.

Tony Sage on SST said that Perth Glory's memberships are up by 20%, the 3rd highest in the league.
He also said that had Perth not signed Gallas, we would of broken even.

The turbulence did not end with the playing and coaching staff. After six years as an investor, three of which as a majority owner and chairman, Turnbull was dismissed by Charlesworth. The club he helped forge was out of his hands and, while the finances were in a more secure state, a new era of turmoil began. Talk of a partial relocation to North Sydney Oval surfaced and were promoted by the owner himself. ''Now that Mike's in charge, he has to mould the club to a sustainable form that Mike's happy with and that might take a bit of pain and time but, at the end of the day, Mike's put the money in and he has to have the freedom to do what he [sees] fit,'' Turnbull said. The club had registered a record of more than 5600 members after breaking its grand final hoodoo but that was not enough to convince Charlesworth that the club had a permanent and viable future on the Central Coast alone. With a supporter base in limbo as a result of plans to move games away from the club's spiritual base, and a new board likely to feature representation from Sydney's Northern Suburbs Football Association, there are fears that the Mariners could be facing an end of an era. ''It will be a shame if the foundations that created a club that was envied around the country isn't maintained,'' Turnbull said. ''We showed how it could be done with such a small budget that it would be a shame if those weren't honoured.'' ... So what do we make of this Joffa and co - Is it substantive enough proof or not? :-k Edited by gloryperth: 1/1/2014 05:35:15 PM
