Sell every available ticket, except for a small number for away support. I see positives and negatives to that. As an my fan would u like the cap scraped for aami park? I would scrap the cap for AAMI, sell it out every week, if people want to see MV and they're not a member...make them go to Etihad.

Schultzy wrote:It's looking more and more likely that wsw will have to set a cap? What do people think 16-17k? The general consensus of members commenting has been to have a cap in the 12-14k range. The club makes more money out of casual attendance than from member attendance if the crowd size is the same anyway. One of the problems with selling all seats to members is that there is a normal churn of fans not renewing that can be as high as 10% and there is a need to have a pool of people from which to draw replacement members. If a person has not been able to buy a ticket for a whole season the likelihood of them wanting to buy a membership the following season is significantly diminished. Only when demand is such that the waiting list is several years long is having all member seating the way to go.

WSW announced today that they've passed 8000 memberships, and that's before they go on sale to the general public.

Figures aren't all up to date. That 7261 hasn't been updated for over two weeks now. We would be close to 10,000 by now.

Adelaide United This season we are offering more to our members. If you have ever wondered what it’s like to watch the game from a corporate box, this season you could have your chance to experience it first-hand. Every home game, we are offering one lucky member plus a friend the chance to watch the game from the club’s corporate box . Members will also go into a draw to win a match ball, signed by the captain. There is one match ball to be won at each of the13 home games. To be in the running to win, all you have to do is attend the match. It’s that easy. Each match, members will be chosen at random and will be announced during the match. The winning members will be able to collect their prizes from the AUFC Office the following week (member card and photo id must be produced to verify the winner’s identity). http://www.footballaustralia.com.au/adelaideunited/news-display/More-for-Members/69966?

I just can't imagine how good it's going to be to see over 10,000 WSW supporters at Allianz TWICE this year. If we pulled 32,000 for the Newcastle game last year, we would have to go close to a sellout when you guys come in to town yeah?

Schultzy wrote:Surely cap is inevitable with 3 months to go I would think so. The last thing a club needs to do is not have tickets available for casuals that might be their members of the future when the stadium has a greater capacity.

I know of clubs in Europe that allow members to make their seats available for sale for games they aren't attending and the club on sells them. Edited by Bullion: 5/7/2013 02:12:04 PM

Tony Pignata has stated Sydney FC will not release membership numbers at this stage. This is first hand information from the memberships office as of 5th July. For reasons not disclosed, I can only think this would be for commercial reasons whilst in negotiations with prospective sponsorship deals. So I can only say that figure is a thumb suck!

Happy with MH's progress so far.
HK arriving will give it a boost but It will be interesting to see if a marquee is signed and just which part of the market this appeals to.
