http://melbourneknights.com.au/TheClub/News/tabid/95/articleType/ArticleView/articleId/185/Ljubo-Milicevic-a-welcome-return-to-Knights.aspxQuote: The Melbourne Knights FC are pleased to confirm the return of world-class defender, Ljubo Miličević. Miličević, who began his professional career with Melbourne Croatia in the National Soccer League, has been training with the team since returning from Croatia after a short stint with first division club, Hajduk Split. Miličević, available for selection this Sunday against traditional rivals South Melbourne FC, is keen to wear the red, white and blue in the much anticipated derby. A player of Miličević's calibre, with a wealth of international experience, is a welcome addition to the Knights squad.

Was picturing a Leijer/Milicevic centre back pairing which would provide many laughs or a Wielaert/Milicevic pairing of pensioners. After he said he didn't need the a-league and would never be back ? He knows how it would make him look if he signed for a team now.

Gotta admit he's a good player but his mouth is huge and unstoppable......

He knows how it would make him look if he signed for a team now. If he wanted a contract, and was offered a contract, I don't think he's the kind who would be bothered about what anyone else thought... That said, he's just "independent" enough to get a day job and play for fun. It'll be interesting to see how he adjusts to state league again - you could see his frustration playing at South last time out - players not upto the standard he expected, stray passes and poor judgement was met with some very hard Ljubo stares. Knights aren't as good (this season) as South were two years ago, so he's likely to have just as much poor play around him again. madzaman wrote:I thought he hated Australia cause we couldn't say his name properly. Pretty confident everyone at Knights will be able to pronounce his name properly. ;)

one of the best centre backs to ever grace the a-league.
would love for him to come home to the jerks. gary's whole new-wave thing doesn't have room for him though, unfortunately.
would love for the heart to pick him up. that derby <3

Pity he helped Sth Melb secure a point by scoring a goal for them. Other then that he did not too bad, but his fitness is lacking as his 2 steps behind.Needs match fitness fast.

Putting aside all the joking and negativity about the bloke, on the pitch, he's a class act and way above the general standard of the state leagues.
