Just got back from a VPL game played in Melbourne and there were hundreds of seagulls flying around in the stands the whole game.
I was fearing for my safety as at times it looked like the birds were going to attack me.
Under the FFV's '2013 Rules of Competition' Page 17 3.1.1.b. "It is the responsibility of all Clubs to: provide a safe environment for Players, Match Officials, Club Officials and spectators"
I am a spectator and i was not safe!
I have got photos to prove this and I will be writing a formal complaint to the FFV in regards to this matter.

Seagulls are often found at rubbish tips, and that sums up Victoria .

How many seagulls do you think would be an acceptable number?

Seagulls are dangerous animals by nature, what if a seagull thinks a spectators eye is a chip and takes his/her eye out? then what? it would be pretty hard to take the seagull to tribunal wouldn't it. The FFV must take action before its too late!! Maybe the FFV can make it compulsory for all clubs competing to have a giant net around the ground/stadium.

If the FFV doesn't act quick this could become reality at soccer in victoria but 100 times worse. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tsDLd9pkEG4

I was at a game earlier this season and somebody looked at me in an aggressive manner - if he didn't have eyes, he couldn't have looked at me that way - thus I would have felt safer. I suggest the immediate, mandatory, plucking of eyes (either by seagull or surgeon, depending on FFA recommendations) for all who wish to attend VPL games in future. Additionally, I recommend that the FFV immediately introduce a requirement for VPL clubs to provide live commentary of all games for the ever increasing number of recently blinded supporters in attendance.
