Probably confirming what many already know but a guy at work is good friends with milligan's mum and she told him he has agreed to terms and is beginning to organise moving the family etc over there. Says its really good money and really wants to have a crack at the prem. says he loves melbourne and melbourne victory but the offer is too good to refuse.
To be honest I want him to go there, will only better him as a player.

Considering he told the Board that he doesn't want to leave yet, I call bullshit on your fourth hand information.

Decazz wrote:mmm im more inclined to call bullshit on this. Can't see what ange gets out of denying that theres an offer He denied there was a written offer tabled. Be sure to read all the words. This is simply negotiation 101. Use the media to get the message out how important the player is to the club and future of the clubs aspirations blah blah blah, inflate the value of the product to gain leverage on the deal. Simples! In all of this, and to put into perspective for the Notorganics of the world, if it's not about money for Victory, then get off your hands MV and go bring in a notable marquee to fill the role planned for Milligan. Let Milligan grab is only chance of EPL.

Let Milligan grab is only chance of EPL. Indeed. Most people don't realise this. But it's all in the 'technicality' - Just because Ange says 'There have been no offers' doesn't means there won't be one tabled! Doesn't mean there haven't been clubs monitoring or even enquiring?! I've seen this before. Coaches and clubs need to be careful too. They kind of have to play 'hard to get' in a way. They can't let them in (Agents etc) by talking 'too loose', otherwise value plummets and on 'the player's' side they can enter a scenario of no-return, a limbo or 'wanting to leave' and 'being disappointed' should it not happen, fall out of the Victory team, losing morale etc... Suddenly there's no option but for the player to leave, at reduced value (Or even release!). This all requires careful management, especially in this 24 media cycle. Nothing is done, till it's done. And if nothing is done, then it's fine, there's nothing to talk about and Milligan, Ange and Victory carry on with business just as they have been. Edited by GloryPerth: 1/8/2013 02:48:46 PM

 at notor latching on to any scrap of indication that Milligan isn't leaving.
My sources have told me SFA about this, but IMO he'll leave. No one loses their dream to play at such a high level, and even training & playing reserves for an EPL team would be better than playing HAL leading into the WC IMO.
Will MV replace him? How is Paartalu going, and what is his status?

Milberry is a journo who is very well placed with several MV board members. He never blows his twitter load early, and as Notor said I can't recall him ever being off the mark. Take it from me that you can consider this guy a solid source.
Of course, things could always change out of the blue at he last minute, that's football, but yeah, you can be sure that that tweet was accurate.

pv4 wrote::lol: at notor latching on to any scrap of indication that Milligan isn't leaving. What Paladisious said (man, that username is spelled so differently than how I sound it out in my head). I could have linked to any of the multitude of tweets saying "oh, he's settled, he has the armband, he'll go to the WC" tweets by random MVFC twitterati, but I spent 10 minutes actually searching out that specific tweet BECAUSE of who posted it.

We should pull out the old roundtables where I slammed the notion of him being our captain because he was "a player that played for Melbourne, not a Melbourne player".
What a difference a year makes haha.

 love this thread.
In reply to PV4, my usual source is very close to Erik, but I don't think he'll be on the move too soon. He didn't enjoy China initially, but he was advised to stay there and see out his absolutely huge contract. I'm going to a wedding with Erik in a few months, so I'll just ask him (jokes... No-one likes awkward fanboi shit at a wedding)
