Blackburn Rovers target Juventus midfielder Troisi by Jack Failsworth. Published Fri 23 Aug 2013 13:30, last updated: 23/08/13 According to reports Blackburn Rovers are interested in Juventus midfielder James Troisi. SportsDirect News claims the former Newcastle United player has flown in for talks with Rovers about joining on a season-long loan deal. Troisi is being lined up as a replacement for Morten Gamst Pedersen, the veteran midfielder who is finalising a move to Turkey. The 25-year-old is joint-owned by Atalanta and both Italian sides are happy for him to move to the Championship for first-team action. http://www.clicklancashire.com/sport/blackburn-rovers-fc/1214873-blackburn-rovers-target-juventus-midfielder-troisi.html

Would be a decent move if it means he has a better shot at playing regularly, something he hasn't done since moving to Italy. This time last year I thought we would have seen him become a regular in the Socceroos squad.

Very talented player. He's getting older though and needs to be playing regularly. I thought he would have come off the bench a few more times for Atalanta than he has actually. In saying that it does take time to adjust to Italian football, so a move to the championship might be good for his development. If he can sure up his first touch he would run rings around most of the back lines in the championship.

By now, American Samoa must have realised that Australias 22-0 win over Tonga two days earlier was no fluke.

First team football in the championship would help his World Cup chances that's if he isn't playing week in week out in the serie a.

If he wants a World Cup birth, he needs to be playing regularly. This would be a good move for him.

I've heard this before.
Peterson is moving on, so I guess this makes sense. James could be a good move for us, and could be great making runs off of Jordan Rhodes!

Turns out he could be on his way to Norwich: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2402327/Norwich-close-Australian-midfielder-Troisi-season-long-loan.htmlWill be a brilliant move leading in to the world cup, assuming he gets some kind of regular game time of course.

Why has he fallen off the Socceroos radar if he was going so well in Turkey?

Oh ok well that makes sense, in that case can anyone realistically see him consistently in the match squad of Norwich, Blackburn does sound a little more realistic and he does need to be playing this year.

Best of luck to the lad. He always seems to choose the most ambitious option rather than the easiest or most lucrative. His highlights reel in Turkey was amazing - I would love for him to bring some of that form to the national team.

Norwich?! Aahh I vaguely remember... believe it or not but he was linked to Norwich before, circa the time he left Newcastle?! Interesting, IF this is so, to see they may be interested all these seasons later?

don't understand why they arent giving him a go as with bulut, these guys get signed by these clubs who actually paid a hefty price yet they never get a game time absolute waste.

Probably complete BS but interesting nonetheless. Quote:Cyprus Football @cyprusfooty 14h Australian midfielder James Troisi is on his way to #Cyprus to sign for #APOEL.

Near James Troisi The Australian James Troici in the form of lending has meant the transfer of the tenth of the APOEL. Troisi struggled as the tactician average and owned by 50% at Juventus and Atalanta. He began his career in Newcastle before getting dubbing for two groups of Turkey. All this until August 2012 when they acquired the Italian teams with a four-year contract. Last year struggled with Atalanta in a poor year for the same after adding just 6 innings for the Championship and two for the Cup. In the face of the galazokitrinoi believe that they find the soccer player that will make the difference in the area of the Centre and will solve the problem of the vertical development. But according to information that we have collected the case is difficult and it is not a given that it will proceed with the dubbing. At least with the data of the moment. The galazokitrinoi expect essentially the green light by FIFA after the CFA has been delayed to zitisei the end of the period, metegrafikis period. -See more at: http://www.sigmalive.com/sports/football/cyprus/a-league/62992#sthash.d02Tpr6N.dpuf

Perhaps the lure of Europa League football? Can't imagine them progressing beyond a group with Bordeaux and Frankfurt.

Even though APOEL will play Europa League this season I'd prefer him in a mid-table club in a stronger league which is where he was a couple of seasons ago with Kayserispor although, tbf, I think there were issues around him getting paid so I can understand why he left that club. Another club there or in a similar strength league would be preferable. Cyprus looks to have a handful of reasonable quality clubs but after that the quality seems to fall away pretty sharply. All depending on the rumour being true, of course.

Is it just transfers that are not allowed now? Could he technically be loaned to any league?

I'm pretty sure moves can only be made for free agents. A loan deal has to be done during a transfer window.

He's always part of the Akhisar matchday squad but hasn't played any minutes so far this season (3 matches).

Beyond a joke. Sick of these Twitter based rumours. But honestly, IF that's the level Juve and co believe Troisi should seek for loan... then what a mistake this move has been for him. We all talk of how he was going in Turkey, finally breaking through and excelling - a regular for his club. NT call ups and starts were happening as a result. 'Dream Move' to Juve but we all knew it was still a 'bit of a reach' to be at that level - even the Atalanta move, while it seemed 'more possible' it just seemed 'a bridge too far' for him, for some reason (Seems he couldn't adapt tactically). Maybe his being there a full pre-season now, into his second season, might help his cause? But IF he can't secure a co-agreement/'loan' with a lower Serie A club or what not, then this is just frustrating and wasting his talents! Edited by gloryperth: 5/9/2013 07:18:23 AM

Why do so many clubs pay for our aussie players, then they just put them on the bench every week or not even in the squad. What is the point? If you see the player as non-usable - transfer him and bring someone in you might play...
