Another Penalty. Chamakh goes through gets pulled down and Nasri steps up to convert another penalty in the 6th minute of injury time.
Arshavin makes it 4-1 on the stroke of half time\:d/ \:d/ \:d/ \:d/
Horrible defending from Sp*rs quick free kick no one near him slams it into the far corner.

FT 4-1
All in all a very very satisfying performance. Back four were excellent, only one glaring mistake from Gibbs to keep Keane onside for his goal.
Jack Wilshere MOTM for sure, was brilliant throughout. Rosicky and Nasri were excellent. Lansbury was solid and glad to see him get his first ever goal for the club.
Djourou did well in his first start since coming back from injury and Koscielny was solid once again.
Fabianski didn't have anything to do really and dealt pretty well with most of it. Should have done better with the goal but oh well, he didn't cost us anything in the end so it doesn't matter.

Stadium was empty at the end apart from our fans. Never seen White Hart Lane look more brilliant

It's not winning in the Carling Cup that I was excited about, it's beating you blokes that I love, especially when it's a hammering like this morning:lol: I honestly couldn't care less if we go out in the next round, just wanted to get past Sp*rs:lol: I'd much rather win the League or FA Cup, but if we have the Carling Cup by the end of the season i'll be pleased with a trophy but still dissapointed. I want us to a) consolidate our place in the top four and b) make it to the knockouts of the CL. The FA Cup would be a bonus, and a nice one at that, but it's not the most important thing for Spurs atm.

They won't get both 4th place and making the knockout stages if they get one it'll be one or the other imho.

Half time. Scunthorpe 1 Man United 2
Great half from Scunthorpe, really pressing United. Took the lead witha great strike by Wright. Just minutes later Gibson lobbed the keeper nicely and then Smalling grabbed his first goal. Good to see United under the pump really. People like Rio, Anderson, Owen, Brown and Rafael need that match sharpness.
Newcastle is leading 2v1 at Stamford Bridge.

5v2 win for United.
Good 2nd half performance. Smalling and Rio will be better off with that 90mins. Bebe came on and didn't have much to do but did not look out of place and did his job well.
Scorers: Gibson, Smalling, Owen x2, Park
Chelsea 3 Newcastle 4 in injury time. I am back to bed though

Oh well, Carling Cup out of the way now... fewer games. Of course its a bit upsetting but can draw positives easily.

I'm confused. With Micah Richards out, why wouldn't you play Boateng at RB. A better option than Boyata imo.

Yeh. I watched his interview this morning and he said Boateng was not ready for a full game in the EPL. I would have started him anyway and give him a rest in another game lol.

Kolo Toure and Hart have improved their communication. They almost got in each others way again.

Ivanovic heads against the bar then heads the rebound back to Hart. Big chance.
