Henderson inches away from capping off a marvellous Sunderland move. Cutting in from the right, Benj :p

Quote:On the whole they didn't play that badly, but that offside trap was just pathetic, and if they try that every week they can forget about playing EPL football next season. Like I said, I don't think they're going to have to play like that every week anyway. I think they can topple Newcastle and Stoke and they're a fair chance of staying up.

So sorry for Sunderland - so much possession and really bossed the game, and 2-0 down

Pity he's got bugger all to aim for in the middle. Gyan and Welbeck both need a strong partner to play off, unfortunately we sold Jones in the summer and never replaced him. We've played pretty well today except for a shocking cock up from Mignolet yet we're 2 down. Funny how a lack of a target man and/or a left-side will leave you struggling for goals!!

I'll need to see it again but Mignolet might be at fault for the 2nd due to positioning, but it did move a lot.
You need a change of fortunes soon - relegation will become a real possibility if you dont win in your next few.

I'd be playing Gyan up top alone and Sessegnon in behind, getting them to overlap each other kinda like you see from Aguero/Forlan at Atletico.

And whilst I'm not overly cocky about anything (I've supported them too long), if we beat Wigan next week I'd say we're safe (not happy, but safe). We've managed to make it a must-win match though. afromanGT wrote:Quote:As I've said for a while - he belongs on the wing. Pity he's got bugger all to aim for in the middle. I'd agree with you on that - but the problem is, if you're going to play 5 across midfield you have to have width - the only left-sided player we have who gives us width is Richardson, and he doesn't like playing out there (read - fails to perform) so we don't stretch teams to make the space for someone like Sessegnon to move into.

You could probably push Muntari out onto the left as a makeweight. It's not ideal but it's better than the system at the moment.

sydneycroatia58 wrote:An absolutely huge goal in Villa's season. Surely the winner. Lifts them to 9th on 40 points and you'd think that Agbonlahor's goal could well seal safety for them. Definitely a disheartening result for Sunderland but St Andrews has been tough all season and a Sunderland side lacking confidence was always going to struggle there.

lol Just saw the Torres thing...He finally scores and it's ruled out! So delicious it must be fattening. Highlight of the night right there. He just kinda gave up after a couple of minutes there, the lad's a disaster zone right now.

What a surprise Scholes sent off for a stupid challenge. Definite red card, no argument from Scholes at all though tbf to him.

It was all over once Scholes got sent off and City hold on to end United's hopes of a treble.
United lose, Torres finally scores only for it to be ruled out, could tonight get any better?

No surprises for us. I'm reading Song is in your XI not Diaby?
Wonder who he'll put up against Flanno. Hoping he steps up again.

Song's out, Diaby in for him and it'll be Nasri on the left up against Flanagan.
