Not really, Home Ground Advantage is vastly overstated IMO. And doesn't really effect the tie like an Away goal does. Def agree with Sydcro here, The rule needs changing.

Actually a 2008 Harvard thesis found in a study of 14 football teams (long with 73 other sporting teams and competitors), football had the strongest correlation of home ground advantage of any sport with 67.4% advantage for home teams.

Didn't Barca do that to Chelsea a couple of years back? No, that was in injury time in the 90 mins not in Extra Time. I wouldn't call it a rule change, more just a tweak to make it fair across the board.

I'm not saying there's no advantage to playing at home, just that I don't think it's as big as people say it is, and I definitely don't find it comparable to the advantage the current away goal rule brings.

Given that the study suggests that the home team wins two thirds of the time I'd say that it definitely is as big as people suggest. Though the study also found that the more games a team plays in a season, the less susceptible they are to another team's home advantage.

Talk to Wigan if you think that home ground is a significant advantage.

City denied a blatant penalty there, Fellaini handles in the areas but somehow the official awards a free kick just outside the area  Two minutes until a 15 point lead

Nowhere near enough urgency in that effort for a team practically surrendering any hope of defending their title, Still plenty of games left but it would take a monumental fuck up for us to blow that lead.

Southampton are playing like a team chasing Europe. Liverpool are playing like a relegation threatened team. We could be 3 - 0 down by now.

Nothing worse than seeing Jones in goal. I just write those games off as a loss.

Awful. Where is Lucas? Midfield is non-existant. You can't play 4-2-4 (essentially) on the road in a game like this with no midfield enforcer.
Lucas on at HT. For anyone. But probably Allen.
