+x+x+x+x+x+xMaitland Sportsground will be hosting Maitland FC's home games in the 2019 FFA CUP national rounds according to Ben Homer & Liam Bentley mentioned on live stream tonight should they host a home tie instead of Cooks Square Park after this evening they qualified for the FFA CUP round of 32 for the first time they are also the first club outside Newcastle to qualify for the FFA CUP national round of 32. Don't mean to nitpick but this is not correct. Edgeworth Eagles and South Cardiff FC are based in Lake Macquarie and are part of Macquarie Football. Maitland FC are the first Hunter Valley team to qualify. FWIW the Jets played the Wanderers at Maitland Sportsground in a pre-season game and I was very impressed with the setup, hope they do get a game there. Most likely will. Very happy for a team from a different region to join this illustrious competition. More to add to the story. just wondering mate i know you don't like the a league but do you like/are you happy with the ffa cup? Good question. Overall, I am happy. I think it is very important, with a league without pro/rel, without transfer fees, that this tournament exists to give them the exposure to shine. That being said there are improvements that need to be made. A continental spot being one of them, allowing state teams to field more internationals etc. But these are overnight fixes that can be done on a dime when the right and competent leadership gets in power. Your thoughts? The international players is really unfair to NPL clubs and often gets overlooked. A League clubs should be forced to select 2 foreign players to compete like NPL clubs. Agree with this. Considering the imports are generally the stand out players it’s a really big advantage for the a league clubs.

We picked a good night to be a shambles down back, threw that game away tonight. Our wingers were largely negated as Knights have brought the pitch in to the minimum standard and we clearly weren’t prepared for that.

+xI would love to see Melbourne Knights drawn to play Melbourne Victory at home. Would be amazing. We've only ever been drawn against two Melbourne NPL teams so far (Hume City twice and Bentleigh Greens once), but Knights v Victory would be one for the history books.

South's defense couldnt handle Watson, too big, too strong hard to get the ball off. your night was topped off after you conceded that disasterous 3rd goal

But again, it would take just a stroke of a pen to amend it.

They moved it in for the cup game against avondale 3 weeks ago. Was a full sized pitch when we beat them in April.

Would’ve preferred Rocko, well liked club in the area and well south of the city with lots of Brits. I imagine Lark Hill would be up to scratch to host a game.

Honestly, as an outsider looking in (WA don't televise games for whatever reason) the clubs that have qualified seem to be the most ambitious.

Just noticed Cooma Tigers aren't even from Canberra or the ACT, fantastic if they can host a game.

+xJust noticed Cooma Tigers aren't even from Canberra or the ACT, fantastic if they can host a game. That's insane. FFA must make it work, it would huge town like Cooma if they could host an A-League team in a competitive match. The whole point of the Cup is ruined if they draw a big club and have to move the game all the way to Canberra. Work with the council to hire a tonne of temporary stands if need be.

Bit of an upset Moreland winning. Happy for them to make R32 as they stumbled at the last hurdle last season.
If they host a tie where would they play there games? Epping Stadium?
