The more A-League teams get fit and gel pre-season the more, Npl have no chance, really. Edited by MrBrisbane: 22/8/2014 08:34:50 PM

Will most likely road trip it up to Canberra depending on which day we get, and definitely will go along to the St Albans game if it's on a different day.
Good draw, but as others have said hopefully it won't be as fixed in the future as it's clearly not necessary.

So from my understanding it's how they did it on the first Ro32 match day Two match days this time around, so two main matches (one on each match day obviously) and the others being crossed to for updates.

We'll find out more on Monday I guess.

Edensor is plenty big enough at a capacity of 12k. It won't be moved. We'll see. Problem for the FFA is there's no real reason to move it. Doesn't need to be real  Don't get me wrong, it's better if they leave it at Edensor but if they can see the potential for more than 12K through the gate they may try and move it. If they do move it, it'll be for one of two reasons. 1) Capacity. Wiki & Aus Stadiums both have Edensor Park's capacity at 12,000. ~8,000 of that is 'seated'. This could very well go close to selling out. When was the last time Edensor Park sold out? (According to AusStadiums, the highest crowd there is just over 4k vs Marconi back in 2003 :-k ) Surely not since the end of the NSL. Now I can't remember it it's Edensor Park or Bonnyrigg's home stadium that has part of the ground closed off because it's fallen into disrepair. I think it's Bonnyriggs, SydCro or one of the Sydney United boys could clear that up? But yeah, they could move it to Parramatta to cash in on this. In addition to this, are the television facilities adequate enough. The NSW Premier League and the stream vs. FNQ wouldn't have been an issue becaue they only use a single camera, and nothing fancy or major. 2) The artificial surface. A few A-League clubs have policies on not playing on fake turf IIRC. Pretty sure Sydney FC have that in place. It's why we don't play pre-season grounds that have artificial turf. Now before people jump up and go 'oh but it's Sydney United's home game, they can do whatever they want, yardie-yardie-yardah, don't be surprised if we have a whinge about not wanting to damage our players on the fake turf. Personally, I'd love to have the game at Edensor. It's a bitch to get home from for me, but it'd definitely be worth it. But if it's going to be moved, it'll be over the capacity/broadcasting issue. Either way, keen a fucking mustard for this.

I'll update the OP and other stuff tomorrow (technically later this afternoon, but I've just finished a 12-hour shift behind a bar and it's still Friday night for me, tomorrow doesn't begin until I wake up). But anyway, some great fucking matchups coming up. Our clash vs Sydney United has me with a rather chubby chub. :) Seriously keen for this. I have a lot of time for United, and we've played a few good pre-season games against them, but this is going to be tastier than a perfectly medium rare cooked steak. I was nervous we were going to get another A-League club like Melbourne or Brisbane, but a game in Sydney derby is fantastic. I'm not even that disappointed we're not at home. Had we drawn an interstate club, I'd have like to have been at home, but I've always wanted to head out to Edensor Park. Going to be a great night. :) Big Blue Man, Mark Rudan vs Sydney FC. Couldn't have asked for a better contest. I seriously think this is going to be the game of the Ro16. So fucking keen. Adelaide City vs Brisbane Strikers is also going to be a fantastic match up. Sydney Olympic vs. Bentleigh is going to be excellent. As will be Olympic FC vs Central Coast Mariners. Can't help but think that will be a cupset. I can't really see a bad match in this Ro16. Maybe because it's all so new and exciting. I just really hope South Springvale & Tuggeranong United don't bow out like a limp wrist. On another note, because I missed it, how did South Coast Wolves perform against CCM. They only went down 0-1 which sounds like it was a pretty close game all up. Was it as close as the score line says, or were SCW just lucky? Edited by Heineken: 23/8/2014 05:32:56 AM

Being picky but hate how many of these sides have better pitches than A-League sides. Seeing the game taken to an amateur sides ground and playing on a multi million dollar synthetic pitch just doesn't look right to me.

Mixed on them, some are great, some are really hard on the legs but in regards to the way it looks in a cup competition, just doesn't look right. I want to see mud, holes, dodgy lines and goal posts with a lean.
