Why is the seating for your ground so complicated :lol: I remember reffing at Edensor a few years ago, before the conversion to artificial surface, and being a bit overawed. It will be amazing that a fixture such as this is returning to one of the iconic grounds of football in this country after the last two decades. I don't particularly like SU58 or their supporters, but this will be a simply fantastic night for sport in this country! I love the feeling of Cup football, and the opportunity of 23/9 is exciting beyond comprehension!

The hill you were talking about in the original post is the one on the sideline closest to the club which is half grass half seats. 19-SU-58 thought you were talking about the hill behind the goal which will be fenced off for the cove.

That's what I thought hahaha. So just so we're 100% clear, the Sydney Members' pre-sale tix are on the GA Hill on the right of this pick along the Eastern sideline, there's a massive fence in the corner, and the Cove will be the entire Northern hill area, whilst the main Eastern grandstand is on sale to SU Members and the Southern end and seating on the South Western side are on sale to public sunday? Fark Well technically half the ground will be closed as only the west and south stands will have seats :P but no I take your point and agree. its absurd, I cant beleive ticketek get away with it. surely it would be in the clubs interest to run tickets themselves?

When you're expecting close to a sell out then it makes sense to put a premium price on the premium sections. The $40 tickets are for the upper tier of the grandstand - they're the best seats in the house and there's only a few hundred of them. If you were to make them any cheaper then everybody would want to sit there.

I Don't have a problem with United's prices.
Its a damn fine facility, they have upkeep of the ground, which still applies despite the synthetic turf.
Plus for the night they have to pay for;
Electricty, Security & Police, Council will probably charge them for traffic congestion in the area, player payments, provision of food/drink for any FFA bogus people that decide to show up.
I hope that they earn enough to let them put a decent side out for the next few NSW NPL seasons, and perhaps upgrade some of the facilities they already have for next time the cup comes around.

Regardless of the result, they should still make a tidy profit, and I have no qualms with this. This is part of the added beauty of the cup. It allows NPL and smaller clubs to be able to make arguably the biggest cash injection of their season, and that's after the associated costs of Police, private security, and food & beverage costs. United are lucky in the sense they generally don't need it because they've their club next door and the profits associated with that would go into the club anyway. I daresay the Croatian Club is going to do a decent trading on Tuesday afternoon/evening. It's sure too with myself, SydCro58, EasternGlory and associated others drinking before the game. :p ;)

Just got my AU v BR ticket (pax 309 for those playing at home) and quite comically it has the AFL logo on it. Fee was $5 and reading the club's email, this fee will also apply for tix purchased at the gate. Cannot wait to see these clubs take each other on in the premier aussie rules comp, a real test of Gombau and Mulvey's tactics!
