So the semi draw is Friday. Fark it has been annoying how they've done these draws, some were straight after the last game of a round others have to wait. Stupid. -PB

What's the bet the Mariners get Bentleigh and make the final not having once played A-League quality opposition?
He was a man of specific quirks. He believed that all meals should be earned through physical effort. He also contended, zealously like a drunk with a political point, that the third dimension would not be possible if it werent for the existence of water.

Your Semi Finalists: Bentleigh Greens, Adelaide United, Central Coast Mariners and Perth Glory.
If ever there were four teams to tantalise the audience and pack the stadiums...
Maybe next year we'll get a final with more than 8k in attendance.

maybe the FFA should hire some Indian Super League marketing gurus to hype it up a bit
where everything is super exciting :)

Basically hope that the bandwagon arrives en masse for which city hosts. Would definitely not want Perth or Adelaide hosting. Yeah because the whole 3k that turned up to watch AUFC vs Sydney is a clear indication that big cities will provide larger crowds    If Adelaide host Hindmarsh will be at capacity, we did it for the AFC champions league final and that was a game where we were losing 4-0 on aggregate to start with! fools theyve been very clear from the start that the intention is to host the Final on Australia Day in the future. It was only different this year because of the Asian Cup. It will be played on a Tuesday because they stated they wanted fans to feel like Tuesdays were "Cup night".

Hopefully Bentleigh is given a home semi-final. Give them the best chance to chase the dream.

isnt it part of the conditions that they are, given all the other participants are a-league franchises?
i wouldnt count them out either, they could possibly do a number on one of these unfashionable teams playing away from home on a different kind of field

I still think we could get more out of the cup if it was on weekends. More sponsors, crowds, tv audience.
I love re configuring things so here is my suggestion.
Play the round of 32 over the 2 weekends before the the first A-league round. 8 games per weekend. Let teams who have sufficient lighting play in the evening and those who don't during the day. You could have at least 3 games on tv (1 friday, 1 saturday, 1 saturday evening) with most of the games Saturday daytime for goal updates. NPL season starts a little earlier or the finals have 2 rest weeks if there is a clash.
Have the round of 16 on 1 weekend. With no A-league games on that weekend. Same applies for tv (friday, saturday even sunday, any combo)
Same round of 8 weekend. 4 games televised. non-a-league team at home.
Semi finals can be played on 2 Tuesdays. Must have correct lighting or play elsewhere.
Final Australia Day.
Free draw (lower division team gets the home game)
This makes the season 2 weeks longer. Plus 2 weeks earlier. Teams who get knocked out have bye weeks for the r16 and 1/4 finals.

ridiculous. the cup games must be midweek. it provides more regular games and encourages greater professionalism.
the final however is a different story. it is the event that should be on a weekend and it could've been achieved with provision to reschedule 1 or 2 games out of an a-league round to midweek

Free draw (lower division team gets the home game) I'm fine with TV games on tuesdays, that's what fox pay for. However all none televised games, especially those hosted by NPL sides should be Saturday 3pm kick offs. No more bullshit of moving to bigger grounds for lighting etc.
