Should be a good final. Both teams in it are overdue for some silverware.

What are the odds Glory fans make up another rivalry in their heads (glory v roar) after they lose the final and call foul that the game was played in Adelaide?
See on fb the bitching is well and truly underway

See on fb the bitching is well and truly underway Yeah and Adelaide get favoured by the FFA allllllll the time    Honestly! Besides Adelaide v Perth would be the last thing FFA would want. No eastern state teams & two teams thst came from the NSL... Edited by unitedgal: 12/11/2014 10:13:19 PM

was hoping CCM would win as it would have been easy for me to make my way up the coast esp since the FFA had already made their minds up that Glory weren't going to host it.
now i'll be watching it from the pub. I'm assuming this game wont be FTA?

Not sure if I want to see Adelaide choke again or Perth continue their tradition of #NoTrophies.

I'm looking forward to it and I hope Perth can reverse the result they had against Adelaide a few weeks back :)

The sponsors and Foxtel put in money for 3 years, so it looks like pay tv and 32 teams for now. Maybe next year they can sell the final to SBS. But will have to provide numbers first. Edited by scott21: 12/11/2014 10:16:45 PM

You might want to include A-league in there because I remember trophies :P

Edited by scott21: 12/11/2014 10:16:45 PM Thanks, I figured as much. Hopefully sometime soon they could because Australians love a final and it would have been a good way to promote the game further and give the FFA cup more exposure.

The Mariners were shocking in the first half.
They only applied a partial press, which is defending deep with languid squeezing.
AU had too much time on the ball.
I just don't think CCM have the cattle to make up for the players they've lost over the last few years - Ryan (well-covered by Reddy), Sainsbury, Wilkinson, Zwaanzwuik, Ibini, Amini, Bojic, Rogic, that number 10 from South America, McGlinchey, Bozanic, Flores.
They are now basically a NPL plus team. They have been well-coached, but they just don' t have the quality.
I feel sorry for the CCM fans.
I think the performance against AU, where they were lucky to score two goals, will become normal and the crowds will drop.

If Perth play like they did against Adelaide the other week, it's going to be Adelaide picking up their first silverware since 2005. Personally, I'm backing Adelaide. They've got a good thing going, and I think Gombau deserves silverware this season.

This is what it is all about. Two clubs no one gives two shits about to win a major trophy You go little clubs, you go.

So the Poms traditionally sing " Abide with Me" as well as the National Anthem before the FA Cup Final, basically a Christian hymn but is also considered an unofficial English National Anthem alongside the British National Anthem of God Save the Queen. Should we do something like this? Pretty sure Waltzing Matilda holds that "unofficial national song" role. I remember the Strayan fans singing it with gusto in the friendly against Netherlands before the 2006 WC and never heard it in a football capacity since. Maybe there are better choices than that. What song would you pick, if any? If only I was a mod, we could have had a totally necessary poll on this. Your loss.

(Not saying Walzing Matilda isn't 'Strayan) 15,000 people rocking out, getting "The last plane out of Sydney" wrong.   Makes sense also because everybody knows Sydney is the footballing centerpiece of the universe too. 8-[ Failing that.
