Nah, coughs up a 2-0 lead, then cops 3 despite being a man up.

Questions asked of Rudan? Heads rolling? It's our first loss since the opening day of the season.

No doubt it's a disgraceful collapse. But we're 7 points ahead in the league and won the Waratah Cup last week.

What's a bet Hume get drawn at home again next round? Including qualifiers they have played something like 11 of 12 at home, ridiculous drawing luck, they would get thumped interstate IMO. Bentleigh is Victoria's best chance for the semi final.

Doubt it, he's a fucking idiot if he would. But no matter what he wants or what he'd prefer, one loss in 20+ matches doesnt lead to heads rolling or questions being asked.

If we choke and somehow let out grip on the Premiership slip THEN id be worried.

IMO the premiership means nothing other than a chance to win through to the following years ffa cup via the national playoffs, we have won the premiership 2 years in a row and it did sweet f all for us, and if your gonna capitulate do it in the league where nobody takes notice:lol:

I was very disappointed at the football on show from Hume and Marconi.

It seems that former HAL players, Jesic, Rooney, the former Victory guy from Hume, and Walker have gone backwards since playing in the HAL.

Late in the game Walker did put a fabulous cross in for the goal.=d>

Pavlovic looks like he is closer to what he was when he played HAL.:)

Hegarty's close ball work was pleasing on the eye.=d>

In the other game that went to extra time, SU 58's first two goals and goals 3,4, and 5 from Blacktown were high quality.=d>

After watching the Australian under 16s over the last week, apart from their defensive 1v1 skills, they are so much better to watch than Marconi and Hume ( who I've seen play better football last year in the FFA Cup).

I don't know what sort of philosophy they have at Hume and Marconi, but the way they've been coached in off the ball movement is poor, the angles created by players opening passing lands is sometimes poor meaning too many turnovers, the keepers both had poor foot skills on the deck and the playing out from both teams was disappointing.

It really hits home the drop in standard from the pro HAL to the NPL's better teams. Both teams on Fox's match of the day, Marconi and Hume, have coaches with English origins. Are they leaving what they've learnt at FFA coaching courses back at FFA HQ?

Where is Arthur Papas coaching this year?

Having said this, I've seen a NPL teams from all states play much better football on show than what we saw tonight.

Your anti-English coaches rhetoric is getting a bit tired. Both the Hume and Marconi coaches have only been in charge of their teams for 1 week so I highly doubt they have changed the playing style in that time.

Both teams had coaching changes last week which would have an affect on the players, Marconi isn't even in the top tier, and Hume are around 5th/6th what they showed tonight is the normal standard they play at, For pure quality it would be hard to go past the top of the table clash cup tie between Blacktown and Sydney United and it delivered, though I think if the 2 teams played another 10 teams Sydney United wouldn't capitulate like that.

Pappas is coaching green gully who will get a crack at central coast next week, they too have been very dour and will likely just scrape into finals.

Only 2 teams in Victoria play consistent good football that's bentleigh and Heidelberg.

Top to bottom nsw would better at this stage.

I have strong English origins, but feel frustrated about their football culture.

Marconi on paper had three pretty promising former HAL players for the Jets on their roster. Pavlovic, Jesic and Rooney looked like they had promise. I was hoping for them to tear it up tonight.

Last year I saw Hume play much better football than tonight.

Shame the SU 58/Blacktown game wasn't shown on TV instead.

Bentleigh Greens have been excellent in previous Cup games.

Did you honestly see enough of the the SUFC/BCFC game to make a judgement?

No.

The quality of both of Blacktown's 3rd, 4th and 5th and SU's goals were high calibre.

Also, watching a game with 6 goals being scored would've been good.
