I love a cup upset and have no love for the Mariners, but I would be filthy if I was them. They were clearly robbed. None of this "they had plenty of chance to win it" - they were disallowed a fair goal and had a clearly offside goal awarded against them. With officiating like that you can't be expected to win.
This is proof positive of the need for video referees, regardless of how much time it takes. I would rather have had a few minutes wasted and a fair result than another match decided by 2 clear mistakes.
This is such a shame too, because the match winner was a cracker and now has been detracted from.

How good was that blonde chap wearing #15 for Gully? Not only was he the main source of creativity for GG but he was also floating all over the pitch to demand the ball. Would be offering him a trial if i was a shit club like CCM.

All class. And whats better is, it knocked the nux out of the cup. He did Australian Grassroots a solid. I might actually stop referring to him as Bitch Nichols now......at least for the preseason...

I would just like to thank the FFA for altering the fixture for this season, and not protecting the worst A-League teams from losses to the NPL clubs.

Walmsly is a fraud. Central coast are going to have cricket scores put on them this season with this pelican in charge and i for one am looking forward to it.
The goal to win it was fantastic vision form bolland??? not surprising to see necevski flapping either  What are mariners thinking, they could have had covic instead of necevski and lets face it they need someone like him

New forum layout made it hard to post from the game last night, but what a fantastic night for Green Gully.
Was freezing there last night but bravo to those 800 or so who made it out there.
Thought the #15 in midfield and the #2 at left back were brilliant all night. The subs Papas made really changed the game, brought about some energy when both teams were tiring.
Was just brilliant to be there to see a NPL club knock off an A-League side.

Why hasn't Pappas had an A-League gig? It seems he is very highly rated from those in the know and last night it showed. Decent tactics and fantastic subs were made.
Overall football is the winner with an cupset.

I cant help but think to some degree the A league coaching roles are still jobs for the boys. It is unfortunate that outside of the 9 australian based A league sides, coaching rarely amounts to much more than part time :(

I thought Davis (dyed blonde bloke) was excellent for them. Thought lamba still has it as well. definetly not out of place in A league side. That goal though was so good. I thought he screwed up as there was a player in open space. Two cracker goals so far in the FFA cup both from NPL sides. I feel for CCM fans, its going to be an awful season. If they don't get a win in the first 5 rounds, it will destroy the club if Warmsley stays on. Although i have a feeling they waiting for sfc to dump Arnold so they can swoop in and get him.

Always great to see an upset even if it's very rare. Malta are such a small country too. ABC devoted some time on the news which is good to see although the poor lighting detracted from the TV highlights in prime time for anyone neutral watching.

Tony Walmsley is an Australian professional football coach currently working as Technical Director and Head Coach for A-League side Central Coast Mariners. Career[edit] Tony Walmsley started his coaching career in 1989 when he served as player/coach for Riverside Olympic in Tasmania.[1][2] Walmsley has previously served as Academy Director for the Manchester United Youth Development Programme in Oceania.[3] He was then appointed the manager of Central Coast Mariners youth team for three seasons, where his team never finished outside the top two and won the A-League National Youth League in the 2011–12 season.[4] In September 2012 he became the Head of Academy Recruitment for English League One side Sheffield United's youth team.[5][6] Walmsley was appointed as Technical Director of the Mariners on 19 February 2015 [7] and caretaker head coach of the Mariners from 6 March, 2015.
I'm not yet sure how to bold font in the new 442 structure, but when one looks at Tony Walmsley's aforementioned senior coaching CV on Wikipedia, he has barely done any coaching at senior level to be offered a HAL gig.
It is arguable that the likes of Papas and John Anastasiadis have far more experience and better results to do Walmsley's job than he has. One can also add South Hobart's Ken Morton.

I once did a coaching course with him. He is a smart guy, modest and unassuming. Some former pros love boasting about their past careers, possessing a little too much hubris. Arthur P is one of a new breed of career coach with tertiary qualifications, compared to being a highly credentialled, former pro player. He has already coached in a diversity of settings, including India.

+xWalmsley must be getting paid peanuts though... He'd have to be.. Saves them money by being someone who is happy with a 2nd rate squad and discount foreigners. Doubt you would be able to find a similar coach who would even bother with the Mariners atm.

Cheers I believe it's meant to work through the app just like EPL on Demand but that app has been known to be a piece of shite. Browser should work as it uses the same engine for their standard Fox videos (which is HTML5 based thank fark). -PB

We only have 13 fit first team players for tonight, none of them are strikers. 😂🔫
For the first time, but certainly not the last, I began to believe that Arsenals moods and fortunes somehow reflected my own. - Hornby
