Well done SMFC for holding on to him. Surprised he's not A-League bound, but I'm sure no one would be shocked to see a club grab him on a short term loan if they're short on strikers during this season.

MILOS LUJIC TO REMAIN AT SOUTH FOR A FURTHER TWO SEASONS
October 7, 2014

South Melbourne FC is excited to announce the 2014 FFV Gold Medal winner Milos Lujic has extended his existing contract and committed to the Club for a further two seasons.

Lujic joined South Melbourne from Northcote City, where his 24 Victorian Premier League goals (including three in the Finals Series), were instrumental in Northcote winning the Minor Premiership and then the Grand Final 3-2 against the Bentleigh Greens.

The centre-forward’s move to Lakeside Stadium for the 2014 NPL Victoria season was even more successful. Lujic finished the season with 24 goals from 32 matches across all competitions, with his 22 League goals equalling the record set by both Jimmy Armstrong (1974) and Doug Brown (1984) for most individual goals scored in a League season at the Club. More importantly, his goals helped South Melbourne FC secure its ninth Victorian Championship and its first since 2006. Last Friday evening at the FFV Gold Medal Night, Lujic took a clean sweep of the top awards including the Player’s Player of the Year, the Golden Boot winner and the FFV Gold Medal for the Best and Fairest Player in 2014.

Speaking to smfc.com.au, SMFC Football Director Nicholas Maikousis said “everyone at South is excited to have Milos around for another two years. He played a leading role in helping the Club to win the inaugural NPL Victoria competition and we look forward to Milos having another big season in 2015.”

Not sure what else this guy could do, he has almost netted 50 goals the past 2 seasons, I don't think he will ever get a shot now. Whilst I don't think he would be prolific in the top flight he surely would be ahead of a number of strikers who currently have a league contracts, glad to have him for the next 2 seasons though.

This. It seems to be a Bryan Bran situation - where everyone knows he's good enough but the franchises appear to have made a decision to ignore the talent.

Too many players selected on name rather than stats and ability.

Definitely should be on a contract ahead of quite a few a-league strikers.

This pisses me off and it wouldn't happen if we had p/r. You can't ignore the threat but if there is no challenge there is no need to locally recruit.

All for P&R but looking at England the effect on recruitment may be the opposite, clubs looking for quick fixes for survival.

Irrelevant anyway as P&R and/or a national A2 League would open up the pyramid for more young Aussie players to show their stuff.

Pllllllllzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

The sooner we're allowed to have squads in the age groups, the better. Everything is in place, as long as the other clubs don't object for some reason.

Not so much a case of being 'allowed', more a case of it being 'mandated'. City may be different, but Heart and Victory have done everything possible to avoid having to do anything more than the minimum.

Football Federation (FFV) wishes to advise that Moreland City, Eastern Lions and the Melbourne Victory and Melbourne City National Youth League clubs have been accepted into the Playstation 4 National Premier Leagues (NPL) Victoria competition.

The four clubs will compete in the PS4 NPL 1 (second division) in 2015, and will be joined by fellow newcomers Murray United and Nunawading City.

As State League 1 North-West and South-East champions respectively, Moreland City and Eastern Lions took the opportunity to apply for entry into the NPL 1.

Following a thorough review process including club interviews, FFV decided to grant Moreland City and Eastern Lions two-year NPL participation licences to bring them in line with existing NPL clubs.

Melbourne Victory NYL and Melbourne City NYL have also been granted two-year licences.

FFV will announce the league structure for the NPL 1 2015 by Friday November 14, with draft fixtures for both the NPL and NPL 1 2015 competitions to be supplied to clubs by the end of November.

South Melbourne FC is excited to announce the signing of South Hobart striker Andy Brennan ahead of the 2015 NPL Victoria season.

After an injury interrupted year in the Victorian Premier League with Bentleigh Greens in 2013, Brennan returned to Tasmania in 2014 and took the state by storm.

Brennan joins the Club after a stunning year for South Hobart, where he scored 25 League goals and played a major role in his side winning the NPL Tasmania (Victory League) Championship. On a personal level, Brennan's exceptional season saw him take out the South Hobart Best and Fairest award and he also finished second in the 2014 Tasmanian Mitsubishi Best and Fairest award for the best player in the state.

Brennan also played a leading role in South Hobart's qualification for the 2014 FFA Cup and PlayStation 4 NPL Finals Series. Many will recall how Brennan's pace caused the South defence all sorts of problems during South's difficult 0-1 victory against South Hobart at the South Hobart Ground on Saturday 20 September.

Twenty One year old Brennan will provide South Melbourne FC with a versatile player across the front half of the ground. He is able to play in multiple positions, including on either wing, behind the strikers or as a centre-forward. His elite speed, ability to take on defenders and a thirst for goal has made him one of the most prolific goal scorers in Tasmanian football.

Speaking to smfc.com.au, South Melbourne FC Football Director Nicholas Maikousis was pleased to have the young talent arrive at Lakeside Stadium. "Andy is a very exciting young talent who has been doing extremely well in Tasmania. We believe that with some hard work, he will be able to adapt to the game in Victoria and provide us with another attacking option for the 2015 season. He certainly caused us some headaches when we last played South Hobart and we look forward to him commencing his journey with us."

Also speaking to smfc.com.au, Brennan could not contain his excitement at joining the club "I'm thrilled to join such a big club in South Melbourne. With the history behind the club and the people who are involved with it now it's looks to be an exciting prospect ahead."

South Melbourne FC welcomes Andy Brennan to the Club and wishes him the best for the upcoming season. Also, stay tuned for a major announcement regarding South Hobart and South Melbourne FC.

Lujic, Stirton and Brennan looks like a frightening frontline, all 3 skilfull, tall/strong and quick...the 3 of them combined netted well over 50 goals last season! Adams becomes the 3rd kiwi in the squad, hopefully he is as good as eager and musa. My understanding is 2-3 signings will round out the off season...I think we need a gun midfielder/playmaker and a better quality keeper. Fill those spots the team barely has a serious weakness.

I cannot believe the FFV has approved Doyle Street Reserve as suitable for NPL football. The ground is an open paddock and at best it is a third division standard community club ground. What is going on in this state?
