Probably not the greatest attitude to have, but I've spoken to multiple Jerks fans who aren't bothering with their memberships until closer to the first home game - which is a good month away.

Not sure how close all these lazy types will put us to the club target of 11k, but it was interesting enough to hear it from multiple people that I thought it was worth posting.

According to the club they had sold (about 2 weeks ago) 600 general admission memberships. This is compared to several thousand last season. The club don't expect these people to sign up until potentially the week before first home game.

11k is still possible

Melbourne - 29,182
Sydney - 27,711
East coast minus Sydney - 23,745
West, south, wellington - 14,427

If adelaide, perth and wellington could do as well as the three other east coast clubs we would be at 100,000 easy.

Great numbers. Thanks for providing Davo.

Shame we probably won't get 100,000 by kickoff tomorrow.

Yep. So last year the total was 94.5 as of April, and we have now beaten it.

Not sure what the totals were for season 7 or 8, but i know last year was a record on its own. So i think this is 3 years straight.

So yeah it's inclusive of all seasons.

No worries.

I will try and keep a tally of crowds and ratings once the season starts.

Unfortunately we won't hit 100k by kick off but within the next week we will. I think we can expect a total figure of around 105k for the season. This would still be very solid considering this is the third membership record in a row.

Great to see.

They have the base to hit 6k+ though. If they achieve any sort of real success they will push much higher in years to come.

I have to dispute that Davo, in terms of technicality/uncertainty over some of the clubs' 'individual records'. While it makes it easier for us when soo many teams set new club records last season and are exceeding them now - some other, longer term, clubs actually still had as bountiful, perhaps even more bountiful, seasons long ago? :-k Because back when we first started these threads, a couple seasons ago, we were discussing how AU had a member-base similarly as large, possibly as large as 8k (Disputed)?!

And with Perth Glory, the club record is surely beyond 5k - As little as I know, exceeding 6k may be pushing 'club record' territory. Have no idea how many members Glory had, during their NSL 'Glory Days' but Glory DID have alot of 'casuals' then so like 'earlier era' Roar most of the attendees may've been non-members of some kind, like 'walk-ups'.

Anecdotally I still see alot of walk-ups at Glory games and some games I attended, particularly earlier in the season, when Edwards was coach, the queues were soo long that people were turning away! Glory finally attended to that, later in the season, with more ticket booths opened up so hopefully punters weren't put off by prior bad experiences with queues. The queues should re-inforce the need for a membership as members like I had no queue to worry about - just straight through! :)

But with your list comparing to the records of last season (only), then it is indeed entirely correct. ;)

While it makes it easier for us when soo many teams set new club records last season and are exceeding them now - some other, longer term, clubs actually still had as bountiful, perhaps even more bountiful, seasons long ago? :-k Because IIRC General Ashnak and co posted that AU once had a member mark around 7-8k - though that likely included limited game member packs, the figure of 8k was posted circa a couple seasons ago, back when we first started these threads!

And with Perth Glory, the club record is surely beyond 5k - As little as I know, exceeding 6k may be pushing 'club record' territory. But he was asking if that was the overall record for all seasons for memberships only, all clubs included. Not necessarily records for individual clubs. Clearly that can't be the case because you still have a handful of clubs to surpass their last years total. However as a whole, the 95k figure is a new overall record.

Adelaide and Perth don't make up huge numbers anyway.

The last few seasons we have seen Sydney FC increase by 6k, Brisbane increase by 5k, now City, WSW enter the league and hit new records each season they have been in, now a new overall record for Phoenix as well.

I'm pretty sure season 7 and 8 had overall membership numbers in the high 70's, low 80's. i say this because last year we saw a 15% spike in memberships IIRC.

Would be good to have actual figures for season 7 and 8.

Oh yeah, again, most clubs reached record numbers last season and are meeting/exceeding those numbers again, now. Makes it soo much more easier to track club records and where clubs are tracking over-all (Better than ever!!).

Just pesky AU and particularly Glory, again. :p Even with Wellington, we atleast KNOW that's their new club record and they, themselves, just confirmed this!

IF we forget the overall record for a sec and look in-terms of club record-to-club record, then that may be interesting and certainly takes the A-League to 110k members or so too.

Hopefully MV too busy processing memberships to have time to update.

But with Wellington going past last year's number, means 5 clubs have surpassed last year. Sydney should also be over it by now.
We also have Victory & Glory close, hopefully both Jets & Mariners can pick it up as well.

Reading back to earlier threads and between the lines, I think AU are 'clearly' in club record memberships territory already with being 6.5k members. Anecdotally backed up, but the positive atmosphere over there, on the back of the good football of last season and Gombau's reign. With that kind of context, you'd really expect them to be pushing to new highs with their memberships!

But with Glory, 5.6k members atleast (I swear they had a member number around that mark, prior to nib revamp?!)... 6k 'might' be a safe, 'club record' mark, but really only guessing.

No way have we ever had 8k members. Not even close.
I know this means nothing without evidence to back me up but I can say that with a fair degree of certainty

It would seem oddly disingenuous of the club as well to say these are record numbers if only a few years ago they were in fact 2k higher...unless they could say it with the technicality being under this ownership.

Total Figures for Glory:

2011/12 - ?
2012/13 - 5000
2013/14 - 5000
2014/15 - 4615 (so far)

So i'm not sure what they got in the earlier years, and I wonder how accurate the 5k figs are too considering they are identical for both 2012 and 2013 season?

But basically I think Perth will track at the same rate as they have in the past few seasons. I envisage the same for Phoenix, and Mariners.
