With Oakleigh the cartoon cannon is not the issue, it's the hideous football O! Obviously they have an affiliation with the Roar. #footballsarenotletters Another contender for worst crest, a legitimate one from my local league. Edited by imonfourfourtwo: 3/8/2014 10:51:03 AM

It's safe to say any crest with a ball on it is immediately heading towards the "bad" side of the equation.

I have no idea how to link a picture on here (so if someone can do me the pleasure) but Sydney Olympic has one of the worst in the game.
It's something a 15 year old would make.

Hahaha yeah I do too. I did not sign up for this season so I have told my old coach I am happy to fill in if they are short. But next season I will be back into it.

Quote:Redlands Farewell Little Red Devil Redlands United have unveiled a new club crest and a new kit supplier as they seek to rejuvenate the club’s image as they approach the club’s centenary. The new crest (pictured) is a stylish circular design that replaces the “little devil” caricature that Queensland football fans have been familiar with since the 1970’s. The design includes a trident in a nod to the club’s Red Devils nickname - which will be retained - and was chosen from four finalists submitted through an intra-club competition opened to club members. The new crest coincides with the new kit supply deal with BLK, who also provided graphics design support for competition entrants. Redlands are in the process of finalising the look of their new playing kits that will feature traditional design elements and are actively seeking sponsors to feature on the new match apparrel. The club will also undertake a complete rebrand of supporter apparel in conjunction with the new supplier to further promote the club and sponsor brands. Redlands United General Manager Martin Hampson said the new designs heralded the start of an exciting redevelopment for the club as it seeks to revitalise operations in line with their national second-tier status as part of the PlayStation 4 NPL Queensland competition. “Since doing the design we have received a lot of community support and positive feedback from the club members and supporters,” Hampson said. “It’s the first part of a redevelopment of the club including our operational structures,” he added. Those operational structures will include refining coaching and junior development as part of Football Federation Australia’s National Club Accreditation Scheme. Redlands currently hold NCAS Level 1 Accreditation and are actively pursuing the next level. “We want to come back next season as the most progressive NPL outfit out there,” Hampson said of the overall aim. “A big part of the rebrand is trying to make the club relevant to the junior players.” Redlands senior head coach Matt Chandler expressed his fondness for the new designs and general direction of the club. “I like it. I think it’s very football orientated and is long overdue,” Chandler said. “The design is about where we are going as a club towards our centenary year in 2018,” he added. http://www.foxsportspulse.com/assoc_page.cgi?client=1-9385-0-0-0&&news_task=DETAIL&articleID=31580116

http://www.sassstrikers.com.au/Space Age Sporting Systems Strikers - the junior club of Adrian Leijer, who in the club history is third in the list of famous players, behind two W-League players. They were originally named Space Age Super Soccer, have always worn an ugly combination of purple and white and were usually an easier match than the bye.

I'm sure it's been posted here but I want to post this again, seeing as they are on top of the NPLV. Bentleigh Greens - up there with the worst logo you've ever seen. Good football side but badly need a logo re-design.

Pretty sure they had no real say in where the FFA Cup logo goes. All clubs have to have it on the right front of the jersey, and not like they're going to put it over their kit makers logo...

Must say, the logo looks hastily stuck on, as if the designer completely forgot to put it on, and only did so last second. Would look better in the middle. The sponsor I have no issue with. It's a bit big, but so long as South Hobart are getting good coin for it, it's not really an issue.

Not the Yenda Tigers?!?! I used to hate my old clubs logo, until we re-designed it a few years back, but now im kinda going through a retro hipster stage and rocking both of them as you can clearly see in my signature. Used to hate away trips to Hillston/Hay/wherever football wasnt the norm, they would see our jacket and think it had something to do with collingwood. :\

NicCarBel wrote:MvFCArsenal16.8 wrote:Cobram victory is no more. They merged with another team to form the cobram roar What exactly has happened in the region since the RPL disbanded with the Griffith association? This probably isn't the correct thread to explain this in. I'm assuming you mean post 2008 when Hanwood and Yoogali went home from Shepparton. So in Shepparton, you had the GV Suns club forming and joining the Victorian NPL2, meaning all the good local players went there, the 2 Cobram clubs, Tigers and Victory merged to form Cobram Roar, who from this season have gone back to the Albury-Wodonga league. Benalla Rovers were essentially kicked out of AW and have rejoined the Shepparton League. In Albury, the only other major change is the formation of Murray United also playing in the Victorian NPL2. In Griffith, when Hanwood & Yoogali came back from Shepparton, they decided to stay in the Griffith League and not return to the Wagga League as they had done the time before. The Wagga League had dropped off considerably since the departure of Hanwood & Yoogali in 2000 and then Leeton in 2002 or when ever. It dropped down to 6 clubs in 1st grade for a while. In 2014 a club formed in Wagga (Eastern Wanderers) and came to play in the then stronger Griffith Comp, making 1st grade 9 clubs. They left after 1 season and went on to become the foundation for Wagga's State League team Wagga City Wanderers in 2015. The Griffith 1st grade is now down to only 6 clubs, with Wests, City, Hanwood, Leeton and the 2 Yoogali's for 2016. There was talk of Griffith trying to get a State League club going, but it looks like the travel is too far and the powerful clubs can't agree to join forces for the good of football in the City. With the State League Club now in Wagga, the best players have moved there, but the local comp is picking up again. There are now 10 clubs in 1st grade, with Young leaving the Bathurst comp to come and join Wagga lat year. In my opinion though I still think the Riverina Branch, especially Griffith, Wagga and South West Slopes would be best suited by leaving FNSW and trying to join Capital Football. A lot closer than Sydney and Rep teams from Griffith and Wagga could probably make a push to becoming NPL clubs in Canberra. Albury should cut all ties with FNSW and become full members of the FFV, not just the split FNSW/FFV set up they have now.

Looks like Heidelberg Stars have gotten rid of their legless camel. Although they seem to have lost 4 years somewhere.

Bentleigh Greens still haven't changed their logo. Officially the worst NPL logo in the country.

Thanks, i meant more post 2012, when Hanwood, Yoogali FC and SC and Wests linked up with region for that "Super League". That was a horrible concept in Griffith because they basically made our clubs have to dield an extra team, three mens open teams for each club, it really drained the numbers around that year. I'm pretty well versed in the Griffith region, so i was more interested in the Shepparton/Cobram side of things, sounds like they had similar issues but foind their way around it with mergers and one regional team instead of a regional competition. It is quite sad though Yenda dropped out due to lack of numbers this year, but at least they still have all the other grades. I wonder if there is still clubs in like.. Hillston/Hay/Deniliquin though, because I'm pretty sure I didn't see them in the Griffith draw this year. If only the clubs in Griffith could actually support eachother, they could be quite strong in the state leagues IMO, but thats never going to happen. I mean, the Riverina Rhinos was a step in the right direction, but they should have put everything into trying to go one step further and making them more than just a youth rep team, and now Wagga has the jump on us in that regard. Anyways, thats my two cents. So, back on topic. I'm yet to see a logo worse than this one: Even their kits wete horrible omg

The little clubs Hillston/Hay/Deniliquin seem to have disappeared completely for a couple of years from Football Griffith. I know Hay & Deniliquin still have juniors but they only play locally now. Deniliquin is trying to get it's own senior comp running I think. Riverina Rhinos is certainly a good start and may lead to something in a few years, but I really think Griffith and Wagga should be working together more. I know some Wagga kids go over to Griffith for the Rhinos and I think some Griffith based players came and played with the Wagga City Wanderers in the State League last year. Quote:The squad includes players from Griffith, Leeton and Cootamundra.
Griffith young guns Roy Catanzariti, Jacob Brooker and Isaac Brooker are all still in high school, but have committed to playing for the Wanderers.

From what i noticed, seems lile Wagga were salty that the Rhinos were set up in Griffith, seeing as Wagga is the bigger city. But, two different set ups for two different things i suppose, theres no big harm in it.. Yet. I don't necessarily hate this jersey. Just thw fact that there is so, so, so, so many sponsors on it..

+xGosh I hate those sleeves on the current kit. Join the club. If the person who designed the kit is Australian they should be shot for treason. And why are the shorts yellow? I keep hearing its a FIFA thing about having one primary colour but off the top of my head I can think of half a dozen teams at the World Cup who had different short/shirt colours. SO WHY???

As I understand that was the proposed design had we stuck with Adidas before the switch to Nike. Yeah, that was my understanding. Back in High School, I actually got bored after the 2006 World Cup and drew a set of "If the Socceroos stayed with Adidas kits" as part of my random doodlings. Got a bit of a surprise years later when I saw it pop up on eBay. And subsequently bought it haha. +x+xGosh I hate those sleeves on the current kit. Join the club. Yeah, that's what I heard too. I know for the Euros a couple years back, many nations complied, but have subsequently thrown that out the window for the World Cup. I actually miss the old black shorts from the 90s now.

I'm really bored lately, so I'm making a database on my computer of every current logo to the best of my ability. Starting with NSW, going through every Association's first grade competition, and then moving upwards to State League and NPL. There's quite a few gems in there haha

Should have just gone with this: EDIT: Just saw in googling the logo that they have gone with that. Just for Seniors though. Why they haven't linked the juniors together baffles me. Just alienates half of the possible playing/fan base. Logo is pretty neat/clean though

My best guess from what I can see is it got amalgamated with Eastern Suburbs (ESFA), and forms the Inner City FA (ICFA) within the ESFA?

I feel like that kit would be okay - away kits have room for experimentation, but for a first ever kit I would want it to be a bit more traditional (even for an away kit).
Clear to see they were inspired by Nigeria's kit that received high praise but it has nothing on that.

So I know some people were a bit salty that Western United took Team 11's colours, I think the general idea was that both Team 11 and South East Melbourne Phoenix would play in the same colours. South East Melbourne Phoenix say this on their colours "The club’s colours are a striking mix of ash grey, referencing the ashes of the re-born Phoenix, accented with centurion green as a nod to the forested hills near its South East Melbourne base.It is highlighted by laser green, a bold and eye-catching statement colour symbolising the Phoenix as cutting edge, modern and focused on the future." So really only the green has something to do with the local area. I thought maybe if they're ever admitted to the A-league or NSD they could go with a Green and Blue kit similar to this...'cause apparently there's a creek in the ranges and blue = water..
alternatively the city of dandenong logo has green, red, and yellow. So they could play in something like this

either way it's possible to maintain the green, and not looking too similar to Western United.

Always thought Seattles kits were an eyesore tbh, those neon colours are a pretty aggressive contrast. Also think SEM might have missed the boat with a green kit after WU and (likely) Canberra come into the league before them with predominantly green colours. +xNot sure how important it would be for a new Mel team not to use a Vic AFLs team colours Now that just makes me think Preston Makedonija 2.0

Have completed best of my knowledge Football NSW (and all associations) and Capital Football Now, I'm going to tackle FFV.
May need some help to completely understand the structure/re-structure from this season:
I have a list of the Regional Leagues outside Melbourne, so they are fine. Within the NPL/State League Structure, has the whole East/West, etc been scrapped for the NPLs, and now there are 3 NPL tiers, with the State Leagues underneath? And how is that structured now? (still 5 State Leagues, with various divisions within?)

+xHave completed best of my knowledge Football NSW (and all associations) and Capital Football Now, I'm going to tackle FFV. May need some help to completely understand the structure/re-structure from this season: I have a list of the Regional Leagues outside Melbourne, so they are fine. Within the NPL/State League Structure, has the whole East/West, etc been scrapped for the NPLs, and now there are 3 NPL tiers, with the State Leagues underneath? And how is that structured now? (still 5 State Leagues, with various divisions within?) I've noticed in Victoria, there's a lot of clubs that have based their logo off Manchester City's redesign

Going to use this thread as an update on my logo/database project instead of the pyramid one, will keep that thread as on topic for just the organisational structure of a football pyramid. As stated in that thread, I now have every club/local association (some very rural areas have an organisation that sets up teams for a local competition - so in those instances, I'm counting the local association as the club) home ground/location input into my Google Earth project. Next up is the logos. In 2020, I had essentially gotten every club in NSW + Capital Football + NPL connected leagues in Victoria. This time I'm starting from scratch, and now have every current club in Tasmania, Capital Football and Northern Territory saved on my drive. Will probably leave FFV and Football NSW until last, since I already have the bulk of them from last time. Again, noting I'm not counting teams that are directly linked to schools - Etc, Capital Football's Marist FC, and Radford College teams - or clubs that are merged into a separate entity if the other clubs are still active - again using Capital Football as an example, not counting BellaMonaro FC, which is a combined Women's only setup for the NPL run by both Monaro Panthers and Brindabella Blues. Running total of clubs per member federation: Capital Football : 38 (if we include Canberra United. Have also made the executive decision to combine ANU FC, and ANU Womens FC) Northern Territory : 17 Tasmania : 31 Western Australia : 154 South Australia : 170 Northern NSW : 181 Queensland : 200 Victoria : 306 New South Wales : 564 TOTAL : 1661 Came across this one in Tassie. The two logos I'm copying in are: A) the one on their Wikipedia page, and B) the one on their Facebook page: Neither were really good quality... so given the similarities, I decided to give them a facelift:

Japan's kit was launched today - Will hopefully expect a new Socceroos one between now and the next two months. interestingly some deal struck with a Japanese designer (who must have designed the pattern) to be branded instead of Adidas. https://www.footyheadlines.com/2024/06/yamamoto-japan-2024-kits.html There are pics of the full kit, but these ones best show the shirt. So will mention - the curtains do match the drapes.
