True, it is an observation. Anyways, what was the biggest head desk moment you have had whilst reading TRP stuff?

Pretty much every time a fuckwit mentions Elliot Rodger.

There's also a LOT of white knighting that goes on which is referred to as "feminism as a sexual strategy", which from my observations women absolutely HATE. Any time someone steps in to protect a woman from making a decision for herself, they're basically infantalising women and is the biggest form of ironic misogyny I've seen.

A lot of that chatter revolves around hypergamy theory, which I'm not on board with.

I think statistics basically show that whilst divorce is likely, it's not inevitable. I can understand the fear that a lot of modern men have of marriage and being emotionally and financially destroyed when it does break down.

My wife and I have a verbal agreement of what would happen if we were to ever break up, including custody arrangements. I'll report back if it ever eventuates and whether she holds to that agreement or not.

This thread has already & will continue to deliver lols.

How do you feel being justifiably lumped together with people like Elliot Rodger?

Scepticism is good, by the way. I was very skeptical the first time I learned of it, and continue to be skeptical of every new idea that I see.

What gives the impression that it bothers me? That I'm discussing it?

It was more to head off misconceptions, because I'd like to give Draups the benefit of the doubt of being misinformed rather than being a hyperbolic wanker - even doubly so if he has been hanging with scouse lately who has consistently displayed his hyperbole and intellectual dishonesty regarding social justice issues.

Obviously, it's because he mentioned TRP. Whenever you associate yourself with a community of any sort you become associated with all members of that community and in external people's eyes are therefore no different to any other member (regardless of how extreme and in the minority they may be).

Happens with political parties and religions, why would it be any different here? Add the fact that it seems to be bothering notor (or he's loving the attention), and it's a well described formula.

Are you able to run us through roughly what a week in the life of you was like pre-TRP, and what it is like now? Just trying to get a feel for the day-to-day things you've changed/altered after subscribing to these views.

For me, it was really about leadership.

Despite online argumentative persona and traditional leadership roles as a career, I've always been a passive guy happy to go with the flow when it comes to human relationships. Pre-TRP I would go to work and be a leader, then go home to my wife and be a follower and lose any sense of pro-activeness.

I asked my wife to manage the household finances because I couldn't be bothered, I let myself go in terms of bodyweight, I wouldn't stand up for myself when she would nag about something and I would play a bunch of video games. Basically I would allow her to control the direction of the marriage and it inevitably led us to both being miserable. Whenever we had an argument, I would find myself apologising even when I was correct and would melt at the first sign of wife tears. I know that it probably makes my wife look like an awful person, but she's really not, she was doing what she thought was best for a passive relationship. In fact, I've come to respect her a whole lot more and realise how lucky I was that she didn't leave when other women would have.

I still play a lot of video games, but make sure that other responsibilities are taken care of before I sit down and I'm stricter about "gaming time" which also works for me to be able to say no when I'm asked for something when I'm gaming because it's time that I have set aside for that exact purpose. I train with a mate 2-3 times a week and will take up a personal trainer once my current financial situation is fixed.

I took over management of the household finances, making the final decisions on finances after consultation with the wife and have set up a system of compartmentalising money so that we always have what we need where in the past we wouldn't really track our spending and end up short on occasions.

The biggest change was telling rather than asking and not folding when I'm right. When I want to go out with my friends now, I don't ask for permission anymore although I give her a lot more notice than I used to. When we have an argument, rather than us both losing our shit (her yelling & crying and me sulking and apologising later) I tell her to stop behaving like a child and come back to discuss the issue she has when she has calmed down. This might seem harsh, and the first few times it was like throwing petrol on a fire, but it has led to us both being able to communicate much clearer with each other.

The result as a whole? My wife has a lot more respect for me and has been demonstrated in both her actions as well as her words. I also have a lot more respect for her and for myself.

tbitm wrote:

False premise. Demonstrate to me why you think I hate women as a collective at all, let alone 'so much', and then we can talk.

Interesting.

FWIW, I actually think every married couple has to find their own balance. I'm lucky because my wife is very tolerant., has never gotten angry if I was going somewhere with the boys, and hence I never have to ask for permission, but I do tell her whats happening.

Similarly I have never stopped her from doing anything she wanted to do and actually I encourage her to do so.

Household finances are mostly the domain of my wife:

a) because she is a better manager of money than myself
b) I'm too busy to do it myself

But we have separate accounts that our respective incomes go into and a joint account for joint expenses.

One of the reasons I married my wife is because of her "coolness." She doesn't have high expectations, she's not a princess, she doesn't want to sit down to "talk about her feelings" and she's a tremendous mother who is very attentive and loving.

I'm a lucky guy.

Oh, and she leaves me alone when I'm watching a-league via streams cos she knows "its my thing."

That's undeniably a part of what people discuss.

If you're referring to the subreddit, you can drill the displayed threads down by topics and find what you're looking for:
-Red Pill Theory
-Red Pill Example
-Blue Pill Example
-Ask TRP
-Men's Rights
-Field Report
-Rants/Venting
-Long Term

-Off-Topic

There's also a much smaller subreddit for specifically discussing TRP in the context of being married.

My wife isn't complaining.

Poor old Draups seems obsessed with displaying his ignorance of TRP on every thread I post in so I thought I'd give the rest of the forum a reprieve from his childishness and start a dedicated thread for him to keep his obsessed rage contained to.

Simply, TRP is a small section of the manosphere that dedicates itself to masculinity, self improvement and sexual strategy. It is not primarily concerned with Men's Rights, but focuses more on using current societal status quos to individual advantage rather than changing said status quo.

Over the past year or so I've probably moved more into the realm of true egalitarianism than TRP and the MRM, but they are still values I hold and have made my family life a lot more enjoyable for everyone within.

If you have a particular question about TRP, men's rights, egalitarianism or anything else all you need to is ask.

If you have a perception that you would like to project such as TRP being a philosophy of lying to women to have them sleep with you, then throw it out there and maybe we can have a dialogue about where your ignorance comes from.
