If a country want to have arms for all in case the British invade, then they can do that. But they seriously need to tighten regulations and get better system in place.

Example is why have high powered automatic military grade machine guns for sale.
This is overkill for self defense and a mockery if used hunting. It is just for show or blowing shit up.

Not a criteria, just common sense really.

The arguments are sound even if they're delivered in a comedic format.

But I wouldn't expect a 9/11 troofer and holocaust denier to be swayed by logic so I'm not surprised at your post. (Or am I mixing you up with Fredsta?)

If the US government wanted to turn on its own people, semi-automatic weapons are not going to be able to stop them.

This argument ](*,) ](*,) ](*,)

I guess you haven't learn anything at all from recent history. Forgetting about Vietnam? Or more recently Afghanistan and Iraq? A few thousand militants in hills successfully staved off the most powerful fighting force in history by simply employing guerilla tactics. Now, imagine millions of people doing that.

There are about 300 million guns in America, meaning that there is about 1 gun per person. If the government were to rise up in tyrannical fashion, how many do you think would fight back? I'd realistically say about 1 in 10, but I'll use a conservative estimate of 1 in 20. So that's 15 million fighters armed with an assortment of semi-automatic weapons. If the US military can't control a few militants in hills, how are they going to control millions of fighters that can be disguised as their own citizens?

You can't control a street corner with a B-2 bomber. You can't maintain order in Colorado with an Aircraft carrier docked in Philidelphia. You need boots on the ground to monitor the situation. And consider this: What about if some military personal disagree with what the government is doing? What if they give weapons and hardware to the people who fight back?

So now, the fight becomes much more even.

Regardless of who said what, if you need a gun to feel safe (many Americans clearly do) then you have problems in your society.

Guns just up the stakes and lead to people shooting first and asking questions later. Its idiotic.

http://www.ctvnews.ca/world/u-s-shooting-instructor-dies-after-showing-girl-9-how-to-use-uzi-1.1977476

Quote:
DOLAN SPRINGS, Ariz. -- A 9-year-old girl accidentally killed an Arizona shooting instructor as he was showing her how to use an automatic Uzi, authorities said Tuesday.
Charles Vacca, 39, died Monday shortly after being airlifted to University Medical Center in Las Vegas, Mohave County sheriff's officials said.
Vacca was standing next to the girl at the Last Stop outdoor shooting range in White Hills when she pulled the trigger and the recoil sent the gun over her head, investigators said.
Authorities said the girl was at the shooting range with her parents. Her name was not released.
A woman who answered the phone at the shooting range said it had no comment. She did not provide her name.
It is not known if the range had an age limit on shooting or if the girl was going through a safety class.
Ronald Scott, a firearms safety expert, said most shooting ranges have an age limit and strict safety rules when teaching children to shoot. He said instructors usually have their hands on guns when children are firing high-powered weapons.
"You can't give a 9-year-old an Uzi and expect her to control it," Scott said.

Seriously? Who on earth would think that handing a loaded Uzi to a 9 year old kid is a good idea?

switched the uzi to full automatic too after shooting just one round before that

Exactly so why let them have guns to sort their problems out with?

If anyone thinks guns make anything safer they deserve a frontal lobotomy so their good bits can be donated to science so their life was actually worth something.
