questions about finances. so i win heaps of cash for the club, you cant spend it on anything at the end of the season, then you loose it all when the club gives you nothing much for the start of the next season. wtf?? also, wtf does my managers salary have to do with anything? does it affect the game? im getting big offers but im never going to take them because i am taking my team from the bottom to the top. if i wanted to change teams i would start again and then the squads would resemble the real world. does anybody read this thread?

Always used to go 4-2-3-1, but it doesn't seem as effective on FIFA15. I'm reliably informed that 4-3-3 is the way to go. Trying to perfect my own tactical set up to allow my wingers to always be on call to charge onto flicks from my central striker - used to murder them on previous FIFAs. For me it depends how you play and what level you are playing on. If you are playing a difficulty which is difficult for you (eg you with Sunderland on World Class) then pack the midfield and make sure you have good forwards. For example I have a Milan Career mode on Legendary so I play the 4-3-3 with 3 central midfielders side by side. This forces them wide and I have pacey full backs so they can nick the ball and give it to my best players, Menez and El Shaarawy. If I am playing on World Class I play a 4-2-3-1 or another variation of the 4-3-3 (e.g. with a CDM or with a CAM). I find formations with one central defensive midfielder to be good also. What pisses me off the most is that I started bad, got better, recruited 'better' players, and then suddenly turned shit... that's weird. i find that if i get to cocky i try and do too much with one guy - hold the ball too long etc. or if ive got someone i think i can rely on then i try too much with them and they get dispossed. this will cause a dip in results. i play a 433 narrow like ange. but i have to dms sweeping in front of the front 4. i need 3 strikers ready to shoot at any time. ive used the sliders to make the jump between difficulty levels more manageable. when i start smashing every team i knock the sliders back a bit. Edited by inala brah: 23/4/2015 10:55:55 PM The honest bloke in me stops me from enjoying the game if I've modified it in any way with the sliders - if I score I don't feel it's 'fair' with the sliders in my favour. i felt the same. but it was really useful in making the step up from semi to pro. as a newb i was getting hammered in pro but destroying teams in semi, so it wasnt fun or challenging. so the sliders were good. when i started winning games i really shouldn't have i notched the sliders back a bit. so now i play on pro and its good. ive altered the sliders, but its the same for me and the cpu. just to make it better/more realistic.. does the honest bloke in you re load matches that you've lost so you can win?? best australians to recruit. so in my quest for ive built a 90% aussie team and taken them from league two to the premier league. leckie is a beast. i play him at LDM and he can run down anything and kick off offensive plays. he seems to have maxed at 72. de silva is on 74. he is one of the only aussies who is 'showing great potential' which means he will push the high seventies. brillante is solid, but probably wont go much over 72. tommy oar is kicking ass on 76, i have him playing as a left striker but he still runs wide too much. almost took the golden boot in the premier league lst season. sainsbury is solid as well and is outperforming spiro. but seems to have maxed at 72. davidson has also outshone behich - 71 to 66 max. if i was to start again - which i will - i would get loungo early he also 'is showing great potential' and rhys williams, who got up to 75 but i didnt get him early enough.

Played a career mode with the Olyroos in England which was sweet. Luongo and Ikon were good fun.

I tend to build up as much cash as I can with pre-season and January sales, scouting exclusively for players in the last season of their contracts, then blow the whole wage budget on Bosmans in January. You get an influx of players for the following season - play the good ones, bench the poor, then allow them to leave in January - even if you only get a nominal fee you still end up breaking even on the rubbish.
also, wtf does my managers salary have to do with anything? does it affect the game? im getting big offers but im never going to take them because i am taking my team from the bottom to the top. if i wanted to change teams i would start again and then the squads would resemble the real world.
I would say it's just a guide to how well you are playing the game - I stick with my club all the time too.
does anybody read this thread? I have only started recently. I used to think discussing progress in games was sad and nerdy - then I witnessed my son having lengthy conversations about his various gaming experiences and realised it's the new cool. ;)

It can be quite silly, particularly when you've taken a Championship team all the way into the top 4 of the EPL and still get fuck all cash. You get fair more for progressing in the champions league. inala brah wrote: also, wtf does my managers salary have to do with anything? does it affect the game? im getting big offers but im never going to take them because i am taking my team from the bottom to the top. if i wanted to change teams i would start again and then the squads would resemble the real world.

It's happened again - first half of the season on World Class was smooth, mid-table and building, then all of a sudden boom - six consecutive games without a goal (4 x 0-0 draws, 2 x 1-0 defeats).

I was hoping that I could do it with a better team and it wouldnt be so fucked - the team I have is championship quality playing now in the premier league. i found that professional improved the AI defending and then world class picked up AI attack.

My favourite career mode variation for when I get mega bored of the game is to move all the big four leagues into England. 1. Premier League 2. La Liga 3. Bundasliga 4. Serie A
and fill the remaining spots with HAL clubs and other big clubs like Porto... Simulate for a couple of seasons and watch the movements. It's pretty sweet to watch.

On World Class I pretty much always play as Sunderland, home town side and all that. On professional I used to start as Hartlepool and play my way up, but as you said it gets too easy - when you've got 'Pool from League 2 to the top end of the Premiership in consecutive seasons you know you're not challenging yourself.

does anyone want to gift a "scout future star" to each others career??? career mode is the best part of this game. i wish there were more catalogue items you could apply to teams you manage. i also wish you could add players pictures to their profile. some of the pictures look nothing like the player, and some of them just have a black shadow.

i also think some of the aussies are totally underrated on here - at least in terms of development. the only players with potential - out of all the australians - are de silva and luongo. ive gotten oar up to 76 or 77. but he just gets creamed whenever he contacts someone. what about leckie? what about sainsbury? they stop growing at 72..

Feature they should add (but wont because they only put money into FUT) is a Kit Creation Centre. Just so you can make a new kit for your team each year (even if its just an alternate). Potentially let you keep the caralogue youve made for that team too. So if you get bored of your strip after 2 seasons you can mix it up.

i play as Leeds which is a challenge in itself let me tell you. Every season without fail, come mid season my form drops to shit and all hell breaks loose.
I honestly think one of the greatest signings ive ever made in manager mode came when i got hong chul from Korea, a left back with fantastic free kick attributes, scored me so many goals. After 4 seasons he demanded a transfer and while i was demanding 10 million pound for him (rated at 4.4 million) my board took 3.4 and sold him out from under me  havent been able to find a suitable replacement  they done the same thing to me with Byram.
I think this is one of the first times ive continued to play FIFA right up to the lead up of the new release. Now ive got a hang of the global transfer market im finding it really enjoyable.
A good idea for those losing all their monies at the end of the season is to either offer your players new contracts or upgrade your scouts both youth and normal prior to the season finale
Id love it if this area was a bit more active

i blow cash on scouts but there is only so much you can spend. signing contracts is a great idea!! when i had someone that wanted to leave - daniel de silva - i just bumped his pay up significantly. he stayed and was happy.

ive just started again on world class.... big jump but im easing myself in with the sliders - even so its still a big jump from professional. after i beat real madrid 4 times in a single champions campaign - in my second year in the PL- with what is basically a socceroos squad. i realised that it was a bit to easy. Oxford United will be champions!

board expectations are bullshit. so i started with oxford in league 2. the board said 'fight for promotion' was my goal. i gained automatic promotion into league 1. then the board gives me nothing - $2000 and $450k and then sez they expect automatic promotion to the championship. its a little bit full of shit. what board has ever demanded that of a manager??? auto promotion in the first season in a new league?

I've got quite an interesting prospect in my Arsenal squad. Felix Avila, a 17 year old from Spain who can play as a goalkeeper, a centre back and a left back. I was getting a bit curious when I'd simulate games and Avila would replace one of the defenders, but I thought that was because I didn't have any defenders on the bench (the salmonfc-era Arsenal mainly specialises in producing midfielders) so the game went for the next best thing. It's even weirder because apart from jumping (60), stamina (50), strength (55) and reactions (66), all of his non-GK attributes are shit.
For the first time, but certainly not the last, I began to believe that Arsenals moods and fortunes somehow reflected my own. - Hornby

Just swap clubs when you go to select the club to manage. It's a hell of a lot of fun. I haven't played a HAL career mode since fifa 11. I just move the clubs to England.

Happened again last night - 2 1/2 seasons of continual improvement, squad getting better, buying players suited to my preferred style - then BOOM, 16 games without a win, tumbling down the table (from 5th to 16th), flirting with dropping straight into the relegation zone... Unlike last time managed to turn it around and got to the end of the season. Highly frustrating when you attack for 80 minutes, with 70-75% possession, can't buy a goal, then QPR/Leicester/West Brom pump a long ball up the pitch and score with their single shot of the game.

just got my first perfect 10 player rating for a game. i picked up drogba for cheap ($150k) in the 2015/16 season. he's rated 69 but a lot of key stats are still huge. pretty decent for my league one campaign with oxford. he picked up 3 goals in the first 40 mins and an assist just after half time. i put away the league leaders PNE 8 fkn 0.
