Should Australia grant Hillary Asylum or send her to Manus Island? Tough decision.

Or will she be granted Asylum and given a job at ABC's The Drum or Q@A?

I don't think Trump is going to stop supporting NATO or ANZUS.

But Australia has a lot less to worry about than Europe does. Russia can't invade Australia. we are too far and they need a lot of troops and a way of moving them and logistically supporting them.

There is too much of a Deep state in America - Pentagon

Russia can't invade Australia, but they can the Baltic (which is party of the EU)

if you have never read the back ground of what happen before the falklands war, you would never know the USA wasn't going to support the UK, the USA was going to stay neutrality, but it wasn't ontill the VP Bush was meeting Australia PM Malcolm Fraser, the Bush understand that the USA not supporting the NATO country now, how can Australia know they will support ANZUS

it not about what will happen, it about what could happen

We Know Trump VP Mike Pence supports NATO and is anti Russia, but we don't know how Trump going to act,...let us hope, Trump just wants to glory and lets  Mike Pence run the white house

The UK didn't need any help to wrap up The Falklands.

Russia would be crazy to invade a NATO member but I still wouldn't put this past Putin.

Which is why Trump has to be careful about his Foreign Policy. The US Deep state won't allow Trump to forego their International Influence in Europe and Asia Pacific.

It's dangerous times, but let's just see what happens. I firmly believe that the presidency is a bit of a figurehead when it comes to these kind of things.

Four key foreign policy implications:

- What happens if relations between China and the US deteriorate further? If a trade war starts, or if Trump gets more belligerent in pushing China back in the South China sea, we're going to make some very big decisions about where we stand. I wonder whether a few countries like Vietnam, South Korea, Taiwan and even Japan might want to follow the Philippines out the door. Will we find our security within asia, or will we be standing on the outside with America? Will Trump want to use Australia as a base to launch patrols or attacks into East Asia? What happens if we say no?

-  What happens in East Europe? If Trump goes soft on supporting NATO, that might push that region back into the arms of Putin. Britain's going to have big problems too, now that they are leaving the EU.

- What happens in the middle east (especially Syria) if Trump rips up the Iran Nuclear deal, as he said he would?

- What happens to the Trans-pacific partnership?

If this election was a TV show, the writers would get so much shit for the lack of realism.

For the first time, but certainly not the last, I began to believe that Arsenals moods and fortunes somehow reflected my own. - Hornby
