Trump allegedly broke the Cuba embargo in 1998. Neither an American nor an American company could spend cash in Cuba at that time.

+xDoes anyone else find it suspicious that Donny outright denied he was sniffling at all during the debate? What's he trying to hide? Cocaine addiction? Pneumonia? If we're willing to draw as long a bow as Trump and his Breitbart buddies have when it came to clinton we can only conclude the sniffing is a side affect from a rare and bizarre disease, and he has only a few weeks to live....

I'm more concerned that Donald Trump's charity has donated money to Jenny McCarthy and never obtained the certification that NY require before a charity can solicit money from the public. Add that to his recent public admiration of Angela Merkel (hardly a popular figure amongst his supporters) and the previously mentioned illegal operations in Cuba and this has capped off an absolutely terrible week for Donny.

understanding which state Trump or Clinton needs to win is really easy
most states are very one side that Trump or Clinton can not lose them
if Clinton wins theses states , she will become next president Michigan (16) Pennsylvania (20) Colorado (9) Wisconsin (10)
but Trump needs to win theses states Georgia (16) Arizona (11) Iowa (6) Ohio (18) North Carolina (15) Nevada (6) Florida (29) plus one of the states in Clinton group of must wins states (Michigan, Pennsylvania Colorado, Wisconsin)
if Clinton wins Florida then Trump has to win Three states from the Clinton group of must wins states ( (Michigan, Pennsylvania Colorado, Wisconsin))

I'm sure that once 11.mvfc.11 wakes up he'll be wanking to Clinton's "basement dwellers" comments directed towards Sanders supporters and trying to use it as proof that Hillary is truly Satan and Trump has Sanders supporters' best interests at heart. Here's the full quote, with context. "There is a sense of disappointment among young people about politics. They’re children of the Great Recession, and they are living in their parents’ basement. They feel that they got their education, and the jobs that are available to them are not at all what they envision for themselves, and they don’t see much of a future…that is a mindset that is really affecting their politics. So if you’re feeling that you are consigned to being a barista or some other job that doesn’t pay a lot and doesn’t have much of a ladder of opportunity attached to it, then the idea that maybe, just maybe you could be part of a political revolution is pretty appealing."

http://www.nytimes.com/2016/10/02/us/politics/donald-trump-taxes.html?_r=0Trump declared a $916 million loss on his 1995 income tax returns, which may have allowed him to avoid paying federal income tax for 18 years. We have the best losses, don't we folks? Yuge losses! Interestingly, the documents in this article were mailed to the New York Times, and the return address claims that it was sent from Trump Tower.

So he's either a terrible businessman or he's exploiting countless loopholes to avoid paying taxes. A couple more gems from a Trump rally today. He's accused Hillary of cheating on Bill ("Idon't even think she's loyal to Bill, if you want to know the truth. And really folks, why should she be, right?") and imitated her during her pneumonia episode ( https://twitter.com/BecketAdams/status/782393839986368512).There may be something to that "Trump is a Democratic Party plant" theory that was going around a while ago.

It's not illegal, but it is hypocritical as he has criticised Obama in the past for only paying 20.5% on his $700k income. It's also a middle finger in general to those who do pay their taxes. As soon as the public and journalists can dig up comments from Trump related to taxes or tax dodging, they will hammer him with them. He's shot himself in the foot so many times, it's just a bloody fleshy stump. 11.mvfc.11, if an extremely wealthy Democrat was upset at how Dubya was fucking the country up, would you have no qualms about them trying to get out of paying taxes so they wouldn't have to support what they considered an incompetent government?

And tax dodging makes you a born and bred Rupublican. Thanks for clearing that up. Now that you've deflected that issue, perhaps you could comment on the half a dozen other controversies surrounding Donald Trump this week? It would be mighty hard for you to find a way to deflect it or blame the left though.

+x1st tweet: Trump would obviously have to pay some tax. He is complaining about the 50% that are unfit, unwilling (welfare leeches) or unable (unemployed) to pay tax. 2nd tweet: no contradiction or problem here. He has professed dropping the tax rate for middle class from day one and he is not a hedge funder. 3rd tweet: related to your Democrat not paying tax under Bush hypothetical, Trump is pointing out Obama's hypocrisy in advocating a tax hike for all whilst mismanaging tax monies and paying a low tax rate on government salary. I don't need to respond to all of your innane posts, because you are just regurgitating the same shit floated on /r/politics and in the media. If I wanted to debate shills every day, I would engage some that are at least smart enough to express their own opinions and statements. lol as if you're any better. You blindly pledge your loyalty to a millionaire, refuse to find fault in any of his actions and instead insist that anyone who criticises him is either a paid shill, a "biased mainstream media liberal journalist" or a cuck. I actually challenge my own beliefs and try to find as many different sources of news as possible to form my own opinion. You share alt-right memes on Facebook and dismiss any criticism of Emperor Trump as leftist propaganda. Even when you're presented with objective evidence that Donald Trump is shit, you either ignore it, deflect or call it biased.

Well Trump still does have a marginal income tax rate he needs to pay. I'm not going to look it up but in Australia at least his equivalent here would be paying 47% of his taxable income when the Prime Minister only gets to pay 20.5% which I would say is a bit unfair too. As for 18 years of tax losses, he wouldn't be a terrible business man for doing this. It's smart to realise losses to offset current or future gains you may get. You could do this if you bought shares in your own name tomorrow. On looking this up it was due to a few bad business decisions which happens and it looks like it's led him to success in the forthcoming years. Granted though i'm only just listening in to the rhetoric around this but when someone says it's a tax dodge it's extremely naive because it's completely legal.

Salmon, reading the headlines from /r/politics/ is not as you put it "find[ing] as many different sources of news as possible". I agree that there are people here who deflect from the weaknesses trump shows, just like you deflect from the weaknesses clinton shows. I spent a bit of time involved in student politics through university and I always tried to ask the "candidates" one question. "What are the main reasons why I shouldn't vote for you?" most people couldn't answer the question genuinely, but a few people did. No professional politician in the modern times is going to genuinely tell you where they are weak on policy or character positions compared to their opponent, nor are biased media organisations going to join in as well. It is up to individuals to attempt to answer the question from the information they have available, so I ask you Salmon, what policy, characteristic or general reasons would you have for not recommending an American vote for Clinton. I will give you 5 for why they shouldn't vote for trump. 1. Trump is an unknown quantity (in my opinion this is actually a reason for, but I can see why people swing the other way) 2. Trump has almost no specific policy platform from which anyone can make an informed vote. 3. His likely choices for the supreme court are going to cause issues for Americans for decades. 4. His opinion on Climate Change is unfortunate. 5. He is probably wrong about being able to bring manufacturing jobs back to the USA. I can come up with 5 similar reasons for Clinton, but I'll leave that to you.

I can come up with 5 similar reasons for Clinton, but I'll leave that to you. 1. Her history of what could be considered political opportunism. Doing 180's on her views on gay marriage, fracking, TTP and gun ownership is not necessarily proof (for all we know she has genuinely changed her stances), but it's a yellow flag. 2. While he she denies being swayed by corporate sponsors, she continues to receive donations from the Walton family from her time on the board of directors of Walmart and when asked to release details and transcripts from her meetings with various major donors, she said she'd "look into it" and said she would do so once all other candidates did the same. Trump did mention this briefly during the first debate and had he continued to push this matter, the debate wouldn't have been such a landslide. 3. Voted for the Iraq war, the PATRIOT act and is an admirer of Henry Kissinger, who is regarded by some as a warmonger. 4. Has a tendency to lie about seemingly insignificant things. She claimed that when she arrived in Bosnia, she was under sniper fire, she tried to sign up for the military and that she was named after Mount Everest climber Edmund Hillary. When her camp could've cleared up speculation and conspiracies about her health after her constant coughing and spewing up globs of phlegm into her drinking water, they chose not to. By the time they finally admitted she was suffering from pneumonia, she had already collapsed in public and had to be carried/piled into a Secret Service vehicle. Now there are conspiracies that she's dying of Parkinson's and wears implants to stimulate her brain, which could've been easily avoided by saying she's got pneumonia and resting up for a week or two. 5. During her 2008 and 2016 runs, she constantly attempted to smear her DNC opponents, which the DNC leaks show was aided by several people in the DNC (for the latter). Bonus round: she can appear to be robotic, emotionless and somewhat unsympathetic when trying to reach out to the public (she could just be naturally awkward, but who knows), appears to be in cahoots with several media outlets given the negative press surrounding Bernie Sanders, her own charity is not without its blemishes and while many of the conspiracies about Clinton's health aren't very convincing (the supposed Parkinson's gadget she was wearing at the debate was actually a microphone pack and wire and IIRC non-infectious pneumonia =/= Parkinson's), there is still cause for concern. I should make it clear that I was originally supported Bernie Sanders and almost wished Hillary Clinton would lose the election just to stick it to those at the DNC who tried to discredit him (he didn't lose the nomination solely for this reason, but it didn't help) but after seeing how unhinged Donald Trump is, Hillary is the lesser of two evils.

Take a basic finance class before you attack Trump on this tax thing.
You can offset capital gains taxes with your previous losses, which is ENTIRELY legal and almost every accountant worth a dime will tell you the same thing. Every fucking business that posts a loss does this.
Actually read into stories Sammy before sprouting your inane /r/politics click-bait garbage.

You aren't taxed on revenue, you are taxed on net profits. What he did (and which every single business does) is bring the losses forward to deduct from revenue in future years to lower his overall profits. There is nothing 'shady' or 'hypocritical' about it. It's standard accounting practice.
