+xI think we can all agree that the overt support for certain types of racist violence and fascism shown by Obama, Biden, Harris and their media partners has spooked many millions of people not only in the USA, but around the world. Now the actions taken of those concerned citizens breaking into the capitol was over the top and wrong, but it shows the real concern held by many millions. The question is how do we disavow the democrats and the media companies from the racism and fascism that they hold so dear. This will be a difficult task given the wealth and power they are accumulating. Great job Mark. I thought we had lost you to communism with some of your comments, but its great to see that you havent lost your marbles yet.

+xRusty now sounding like a wifebeater blaming his partner for his violent actions "You drove me to this lefties!!!" False equivalence. An equivalent one would be more like a wife that abuses her partner and he/she/it retaliates in kind.

+xStill waiting for the transcript of Trump's speech where he advocated insurrection...... Here's the full speech, with a transcript: https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/interactive/2021/annotated-trump-speech-jan-6-capitol/Having seen it I am in no doubt that it directly lead to the riot. Using the word "peacefully" once in an hour-long speech doesn't cut it. More importantly, not doing anything to stop them until 2:38pm local time, over an hour after the Capitol was breached at 1:30pm (and even then it was just "stay peaceful"), not telling them to go home until almost three hours after it started with his hilarious video at 4:17pm (in which the first half was dedicated to repeating his election fraud claims, and told the rioters "we love you, you're very special"), and not unequivocally denouncing the rioters and the violence until the evening after (in a speech he definitely didn't write) makes him culpable, in my view.

+xMore fake news. That's *if* Congress invokes the 25th. Which Pence has already rejected. Congress cannot invoke the 25th, that's the Vice President and Cabinet's job.

There's no doubt that there'll be more right-wing violence on Inauguration Day with the FBI reporting of armed protests planned at all state capital buildings as well as Washington DC. I'd be amazed if the day ends without more deaths. We'll see how Trump reacts to that, although I expect his aides would have some arse covering prepared in advance after last time.

Just to inform you, you know the claim that BLM was mostly peaceful? it comes from some research that claimed 93% of BLM protests were peaceful. even if true, that 7% amounts to Two Hundred and twenty different locations, not incidents, locations where violent protests occurred. Trumps supporters have another 219 locations of violence to go to make it even....

I'm not sure the best way to say this, but it felt necessary to say out loud, so here it goes regardless.
I have banned rusty's profile for an unacceptable thread he/she made which has now been removed.
Our best move going forward is not to go further into it all. Thanks for understanding.

Irrelevant because Trump's non-attendance has nothing to do with the protests to come and everything to do with the treatment the Democrats gave him every single day for the past 4 years. As such it follow if its Trumps fault for the Biden inauguration protests, its Obama's fault for the violence during Trumps.

I don't think anyone is saying that the 7% of the violent BLM protests are acceptable - at least not on this forum. When we say the Capitol Riot was violent and unacceptable, Trump supporters simply say, "but BLM protests were violent" Yes, but neither is acceptable.

+x+x+xMore fake news. That's *if* Congress invokes the 25th. Which Pence has already rejected. Congress cannot invoke the 25th, that's the Vice President and Cabinet's job. that would be why Pence was mentioned, you know, him being the VP and all, but thanks for your emlightening contribution This is also the other crazy thing. Pence was setup as the fall guy as well. The Rioters were chanting "Hang Mike Pence". It's madness.
