Trump was in with a chance leading up to the conventions. He just had to pull his head in a little and pretend to be 'Presedential' for a while and watch Hilary squirm.
The pressure was mounting, now she is probably off the hook.

Trump has managed to destroy the edge he had over Clinton after the DNC Wikileaks scandal and then some in just six days. What a fucking dunce.

I'm fucking annoyed at Trump - what a dumb retard.

He had a real chance to win this election. All he had to do was stick to his core message of nationalism and anti-globalization. All he had to do was stick to his trade-deal/anti-TPP message, anti-immigration sentiment and be socially moderate and he would have romped home with conservative working class whites.

But he's gone and fucked it up. What a pity.

Clinton is getting a huge post-convention bounce, bigger than any convention bounce in the last 25 years it will fade a bit, but a couple of things are coming out of polling at the moment, especially in swing states.

Trump is certainly winning white men without a college education, and especially those over 35. However this has been more than offset by:

- Hillary is winning white women big time, by as much as 20 points in some places
- College educated Whites (normally a republican constituency) are going for Hillary, assisted by a big independent vote (as much as 10pc in this demographic)
- one poll in Pennsylvania found republican middle class areas in the suburbs going for Hillary
- Trump is performing even worse than Romney amongst African-American and minority voters

One poll even found Hillary with a 3 point lead in Georgia, with 10pc of voters there saying they'll vote for Johnson, the libertarian.

All of this seems to confirm something I've long suspected - for every white male vote that Trump attracts, he repels one or two other voters.

Bush was a complete moron and said stupid things but still got elected mind you his last name did help.Trump is at least smarter than Bush.

The difference though is that Bush had empathy and an ability to relate to the average citizen (or at least the ability to protray them). Trump is a megalomaniac with dreams of grandeur, and he doesn't care who he steps on to fulfil his selfish ambitions. Hence why a lot in his own party and party faithful have come out publicly and said they'll vote for Clinton (the lesser of two evils as it were in their eyes). Have we ever seen so many world leaders come out and tell another country not to vote for a candidate this much previously (other than maybe when a dictator is running a "democratic" election)??

No way will Trump back out of a debate, it is probably where he actually excels the most. I think the best arguments that one would argue at him would be trying to get him to put himself in the shoes of others (he has shown no ability to be able to relate to an "ordinary" person). He is also a very forthright person, so the best bet again to try and foil him would be to put him in a situation (say a steel mill that is losing millions, would he prop it up to save lots of jobs or cut his losses ... so far his character and professional life has shown him to be someone who would leave them, survival of the fittest etc. Now lots of Americans agree with this attitude, the problem is that if you use a real life situation and industry he may lose votes from the very voters he most appeals too).

Bernie floored Shillary in every debate, imagine what Trump would do

He was a man of specific quirks. He believed that all meals should be earned through physical effort. He also contended, zealously like a drunk with a political point, that the third dimension would not be possible if it werent for the existence of water.

Trump will be in front of a bunch of students and college faculty at most of the debates iirc, so he won't have the crowd completely behind him like he has had in the primary. I could easily see him cracking under the pressure.

Let's not forget that he backed out of the last one-on-one debate he agreed to, so it wouldn't surprise me if he backed out of this one and claimed that the debate was rigged to work against him or some shit.

"We'll also end job killing corporate inversions and cause trillions in new dollars in wealth to come pouring into our country, and by the way, into titties like right here in Detroit".

Pretty minor gaffe by Trump's standards. Lol'd anyway.

I'd tend to agree, but when you specifically name 'the second amendment' people and how there's something they can do that other people can't you are treading a very fine and dangerous line.

I mean for years the crazies have been convincing themselves they need the 2nd amendment to rebel against the government if needed and I find it hard to believe some won't take Trump's words as a suggestion that violence is the answer if Hillary wins.

At this point it's hard to really know what Trump actually wants. It feels like he'll just continue to say some of the dumbest shit heard from a Republican candidate and if it gets him elected then great if not then no big deal for him.
