This election 3 women have accused Bill clinton of sexual assualt and now 8 women have accused trump. Trump also has a court case in December defending a charge of sexual assualt Politically I doubt the charges will have the same impact unless a charge of sexual assualt comes against hillary (or a tape of her boasting about doing it).  But politics aside its a very public version of the experience many women have when coming forward about being raped. They can get shamed on their looks, blamed for their experience, accused of enjoying it or "being lucky", or attacked for accusing a respected person. People who study rape say that very few cases of rape are false accusations. Its plausible that in such a partisan environment the number who falsely accuse a politically significant person is higher. Even still this isn't going to be a great time for those who are reminded of when they came forward about rape and the treatment they got for doing so.

It's such a shitty situation to come forward about because the media jumps all over it. Who in their right mind would come forward and be thrown to the media as a toy in an election campaign? I dislike the gutter tactics and I hate that such serious incidents are just 'more drama' in a political campaign. These are serious incidents outside a political campaign and I think these women are doing a did-service to themselves by coming forward at this time. They deserve more. Sexual assault deserves its own platform.

What I really dislike though is that women are coming forward now. Why now? Why not when it happened? It makes it seem either a political play by the democrats or like they collect a big wad of cash on the way out. While I am in no position to call them liars in the absence of facts, I can't help but be suspicious about the timing of their decision to come forward.

So Bill Clinton's accusers must be heard and believed, yet Donald Trump's accusers are obviously attention seeking liars?

Who knows if they're telling the truth. My guess is they are or at least a few of them are. Trump had openly admitted that he would just grab them by the pussy. He felt he was untouchable. And particularly the journalists first hand account was very consistent with that.... I'm expecting another tape will come forward in a week or two to confirm it absolutely after he's been aggressively denying it for two weeks and shaming the girls and threatening to sue every journalist that writes about it...  This is the absolute worst election ever to happen.
