Doubt it, remember, still finals to push up the average:

Australia 2015: 360,645 (16,393 per match) (so far)
Qatar 2011: 405,361 (12,668 per match)
South East Asia 2007: 724,222 (22,632 per match)
China 2004: 1,020,050 (31,877 per match)
Lebanon 2000: 276,482 (10,634 per match)
UAE 1996: 448,000 (17,231 per match)
Japan 1996: 316,496 (19,781 per match)

We're likely to finish the comp with the third or fourth highest attendance over the last 20 years at least, and that's against some of the most populous nations on the planet.

Just wondering - the last three games at Brisbane had about 2500 or so tickets sold where people didn't turn up. Is this a normal phenomena?

Really, if people just wanted to go to the Aussie games, why buy a package when individual games could have been bought for less?

Well using the Sydney 7 match package as an example:
If I bought Aus v Oman, Quarter Final, Semi Final and Final individually it would have cost the same as the 7 match pass which included Nth Korea v Uzbek, Iran v Qatar, Bahrain v Qatar

The non Aus/KO games were basically free. Hence why I didn't feel like I lost anything by not going to the Qatar v Bahrain match last night.

Venue packages went on sale about a month before individual tickets - may have influenced some people to get in early.

UAE 1996 has the oddest figures  The group stage average was under 10,000 had a bunch of 2-3k crowds.

It was different to our tournament though. In the UAE you would have 2 games at the same stadium on the same day and Only 12 teams competing too compared to 16 now.

The quarters had awful attendances outside the UAE game, then the 2 semi finals had big crowds, played at the same stadium on the same day and the final and 3rd place match were played on the same day at the same stadium which got 60,000 people. I'm assuming people who had tickets to the third place game also had tickets to the final, hence the 60,000 figure was given for both games...

Most of those tournaments inflated figures by playing 2 games on the same day in the same stadium. China did this too. e.g Bahrain vs Qatar would be played before a china game and both games would have an attendance of "48,000"
