They couldn't afford to, far too much risk of not qualifying at all.

Hoping for a Jordan win. That would completely open up our side of the draw with Sth Korea, Japan and Iran all on the same side of the draw.

If Iran finish second in group C what's the chance of Japan throwing away this game to avoid Iran and Australia?

They obviously won't say it even if they intend it, but we might see a really weak lineup.

How many tickets have sold so far for this? 20k?

Actually no, that would make 6 total goals scored to Japan's 5 in the whole group. Bugger, one condition left before going to penalties.

If Jordan sneaks a 1-0 win, this will go to penalties, assuming Iraq beats Palestine to put them all on 6 points. (I think)
