Seriously good shit. Like leave your wife and marrry a burger good. Why would they name a shop after a ficticious football match between Bayern and Germany?

I think there are some burger joints out there that have a promotion where if you can finish the burger you don't have to pay for it...as you'd expect though the burgers are fucking huge.

Been there twice, both times absolutely smashed off my chops. Their burgers are small, but motherfucking tasty! You got to get their fried chicken with it too, that stuff is the motherfucking bomb. They always serve it fresh out of the deep fryer, when it comes to you you're guaranteed to burn the ends of your fingers, but it's so tasty, it's worth it!!!!!
Also heard a lot of mixed reviews about Jack's in Newtown. Lot of people I've spoken too say it's brilliant, but it gets a beating on Zomato. Might have to try the fried chicken...but yeah the burgers at Marys are a bit small.

I remember a few hauls out to Crowsnest for the first Grill'd when it opened.
OP has seriously underrated Mary's. Great burgs.
Wait til BRFC finds this thread. He did a burger tour of Victoria.

Been to a billion burger places, burgers are life.
Sydney - Pub Life Kitchen in Ultimo is the tits, Hotel Pennant Hills is good, Burger Project is alright, Chur Burger in Surry Hills, Harpoon Harry's in Surry Hills, El Burger in Winston Hills, Oxford Tavern in Petersham, The Grilld on George in Windsor, The Tuckshop in Glenhaven, His Boy Elroy in Wollongong, The Hub House Diner in Marrickville I've all been to, plenty more to tick off the list here too. Mary's CBD is average as fuck. Never been to Mary's in Newtown but heard good things. Went once and it was too busy. Maccas Create Your Taste isn't too bad (surprisingly) as well.
In Noosa did Betty's Burgers and Concrete Co. the other day, was immense.
In Melbourne I've done 8bit in Footscray, was the best burger I've ever had. Off the chain. Grand Trailer Park Taverna in the CBD isn't too bad, Ziggy's in Balaclava was good and Mr. Scruff's in Collingwood was real good too.
Burgers for life <3 cannot go wrong with double meat + cheese + ketchup + mustard + pickles + bacon either. Fried chicken is the shit too.

Edited by Socawho: 28/11/2015 11:45:16 PM I'll usually go: Brioche bun (buttered and slightly toasted) Two patties (medium rare) Bacon (well cooked) American/smoky cheese (added onto patties just before taking them off the BBQ/grill to allow them to melt) Pickles Raw brown onion Shredded lettuce Tomato Ketchup American mustard And for the patties, simple. Beef mince Salt Pepper Make the patties, don't use lean mince as the extra fat content makes it taste better, then just before you grill them put alot of salt and pepper on both sides. Last time I made burgers at home I did this and wouldn't change it. Each to their own though, I've put bacon in them before and that was good too.

Just throwing it out there, anyone heading down to the Vic surf coast has to go to bottle of milk in Lorne (Torquay has one as well?) Fresh as f**k, great vibes and a lot of nostalgia (schoolies 2012 (Y) )

I can't understand people wanting meat patties cooked medium rare. Mince needs to be cooked right through. Anything else is just asking for food poisoning.

Raw mince is one the higher risk foods for food poisoning as you are massively increasing the surface area that can be exposed to contamination. It's not like a steak where you can sear both sides and safely eat it, as the surface of the meat now runs through its entirety. The only way to be safe, eating partially raw mince, is to mince the meat in a clean mincer immediately before you cook your burger so the bacteria has minimal time to grow. But most people wouldn't do that.

They got some fines and stuff. Just had next door to blackmans brewery. Better food and they do a good ipa and an even better imperial pilsner (worth Camden town brewery)

Yeah I've heard some really good things about it. Need to try. Belfield on Botany is pretty good. Not overly big but tasty and their tater tots are the fucking bomb  Village Crow in Zetland (same as Stoned Crow at Broadway) do good burgers. Need to find some other good places around Sydney/Airport area.
