This I can understand as it makes much more sense then docking points. As I've said many times docking points for because of a minority who already don't care about being docked points is pointless. Ban the things that the minority love to have access to and it might have a effect. Things like this will still happen but it would at the very least drop the rate of it happening.

If you dock points you will see the real fans start turning on the rbb quick smart, everyone sees it as harmless fun because theirs no club punishment, when it reaches a point where the actions of a few punishes everyone only then will you see attitudes change, guarantee you won't be seeing the entire stadium doing the poznan anymore.

Couldn't agree more. Everything in todays world is about peer pressure... If their mates are egging said idiot on, he will do it

If be happier if WSW were made to play in an empty stadium.... Let's see if people will egg them on then...

Why should everybody be punished and not be allowed to go to games because 4 guys ripped flares?
I would want my money back for the game if I had a season ticket.

All the players, staff, fans get punished.

It is very hard to police at away games. Fines are ok but the most they should get.

Dock points, ban fans have shut outs.
Pfft.. You think the FFA want wsw to boycott or be banned from the derby for example.

It's not as simple as saying shutouts and dock points.
This is a worse look than the flares.

Its clear to me that MV should be fined. Not only did their fans light flares but they also did not provide a safe and adequate environment for the poor fans of WSW who are continually harrassed and discriminated against. Not only that but use of inept security by MV and the use of Vicpol ensured that unruly fans would light flares during the match. We dont seem to have such a big issue at Pirtek stadium. MV should be docked points until they get their house in order.

Can these fuckwits stop trying to turn our league into the nsl. The nsl was an absolute joke because of shot like this.
And what's worse is all the euros trying to replicate what they do in Europe making it look more legit. Grow up u ducking wankers. If u want to rip flares piss off somewhere else.
I'm actually looking forward to seeing how tough ffa will be after their review at the board meeting. Expect every club to be punished now due to some cunts out in western Sydney. Fucking disgrace!

Yep and ur one of them mate. Number of times I've heard u come on here and defend those types of supporters with ur "flares are fully sick , come on they don't hurt anyone and its part of the kulcha" diatribe.

Just remember not to come on here crying when the banning policy doesn't go the way u would have liked.

Don't turn it into a race thing mate. I didn't mention anyone race in my comment, I mentioned supporters that were once part of the nsl that caused issues with this shit and are now doing it in the a-league.

I'm very well aware that there are many many supporters of the a-league that were also supporters of the nsl. Im not branding them all as bad but there are a section that are repeat offenders.

The a-league has managed to broaden the appeal of the game, which should be encouraged if we want our game to grow and not stagnate or retract like it did in the nsl days.

Throwing flares around has already been proven to cause a negative impact in growing the game in this country. Why are people defending these fucking morons.

Just how weak is the security? Why can't they pick up the people with flares on them at the entry points? Who is selling/supplying these people flares? There must be a finite number of suppliers and they must have some idea who they are selling to and their bona fides.

The Guardian report says "Four people were ejected from the ground over discharging flares". Why weren't they arrested and charged?

These are genuine questions. I'd like to know the answers.

There were hundreds of police offers in and around the stadium but they do nothing. They are all decked out like they are going to be deployed into Tahrir Square and then just stand around looking bored in Spencer street, outside Southern Cross Station, all across docklands and then inside the stadium.

They are wasting a colossal amount of money and achieve nothing. I walk straight into Etihad and only get stopped to get my ticket checked as I go to my seat. It's so easy to sneak things in that even my old man doesn't think twice about bringing a flask of rum with him every week.

The club is clearly being extorted by VICPOL, who see us a great way to give all their mates double time pay on the weekend whilst letting the bogans know they are out there keeping those immigrants in line.

Pretty much.
Only think i'll add is a few of us got scanned upon entry on Saturday night.

However i'm fairly certain it wouldn't detect a flare if it was smuggled in.

Expect another large presence for the derby

If I wanted to bring flares in, it would be extremely easy. Body checks are only sometimes implemented and only ever done at the closest gate to the NT(never at Etihad because it is too hard and labour intensive).

The thing we can gain from the game is the complete disregard for tax payers. Every time I watch a game in Melbourne I'm baffled as to how and why so many police/security are required to protect home fans from themselves. Since they don't ever seem to do anything about flares anyway what's the point having these overpaid idiots fondling themselves at the end of every aisle? If a copper came and stood next to me at Suncorp blocking my view and enjoyment of the game I'd quickly be telling him where to go.

So next week I can sneak flares into the Roar game so they get deductions too?

Just how weak is the security? Why can't they pick up the people with flares on them at the entry points? Who is selling/supplying these people flares? There must be a finite number of suppliers and they must have some idea who they are selling to and their bona fides.

The Guardian report says "Four people were ejected from the ground over discharging flares". Why weren't they arrested and charged?

These are genuine questions. I'd like to know the answers.

So its the lax security to blame, not the actions of the "fans"?

Didn't "fans" argue to the FFA that security was too heavy-handed, and that they would self-police? So what do "fans" want? Want to wast hours before kick off as thousands of body checks get done?
