Apparently the chances of going from the jury to pool to an actual jury arent that great so ill possibly just show up for one day and thats it but i just reckon itd be cool to get a vote on guilty/not guilty. What sort of trial did you sit on?

Heres how I remember it. You get called up in a group of 200. You can ask to be excused. You might also be disqualified too. Some are sent packing. You do some testing and some coursework to educate yourselves. The group arent only there to make up one jury, you can be split into multiple ones, according to what the court needs. About 30 are assigned to a case, you walk past the accused, might get challenged and booted by the guy/girl. If not you'll have swear in front of the judge you will uphold justice or something. When 12 are selected you start. The scraps who got kicked by the defendant or whatever may be called up to go into another jury. In other words, if youre surplus to requirements youve still gotta hang around. So youre not really surplus tbh.

Thats my loose recollection of when I sat on a jury. Back in '04.

Now the problem that you have here is that a) You have to be over 18 to be in the jury pool in Victoria and b) you tell us you're in highschool, so which is it?? Or maybe it's both, you'd just turned 18 in 2004 and now you're in year 11, so that would make you 23 in year 11...fuck, how many times were you kept down?

I thought you needed to be a registered voter to vote which would mean you need to be 18 which means you could not still be at high school if you were 18 in 2004 because you would be 23 so unless you really are as dumb as you act on here in your desperate cry for that love and attention your parents never gave you.
