Amazingly it didn't hurt at all, the power that the nail fires at managed to numb it. Only pain of the whole experience was the anaesthetic being jabbed in & all around the nail.
I was nailing a small noggin between two studs that had twists in them, added to the fact the gun was stiff due to not being sprayed over xmas, end result nail firing through edge of stud into thumb twisting other stud.

Unfortunately not, back to work on Monday......the only downside of working as a sub-contractor.

Just hope it's sufficiently hot that H&S says you can't work...

It was the right thumb, and of course I'm right handed......do you know how hard simple things are without using a thumb? e.g turning on car ignition, getting money from zipper in wallet, taking a photo of your right thumb with your left hand, pissing, etc.
No cast or bandage, just wrapped in some bandage then taped up, luckily it just missed the bone and is just a very deep flesh wound.

when they took the nail out could u see through your thumb,

It's definately going into Zoo, I got 4 pics so they can choose the best one.......couldn't see through it but they had to use a syringe with a big needle filled with betadine to flush it out after they removed the nail. Nothing like watching a brown liquid pour out a hole in your thumb on a summersday.

This won't make you feel any better, But I loved it when I pulled one of those off when bowling. Usually meant they were plumb in front too.

I'll admit, as a bowler, I almost enjoyed hitting batsmen more than getting them out. Unless it was clean bowled. Loved that. No better feeling in cricket IMO.

I have to agree with the clean bowled, thats such a good feeling, but then again i dont really bowl quite fast enough to cause anyone serious pain. I guess its a relief to think that i wasnt actually wearing sandshoes, that would fucking suck to get hit on the foot wearing them. Im also kinda glad it wasnt on the big toe, it got my fourth toe which is purple now but you dont really feel that toe much.
