So just to clarify (correct me if I'm wrong JLM)
You are allowed to pick FOUR players MAXIMUM in this draft.
This auction closes the day before first day of season (Aug 13 I think)
Those squads are used for the first three matchdays before the NT break.
After the window closes on Sep 1, during the international break we have one more round of transfers before Gameweek 4. Which starts 10th Sept.
Money left over from this auction will carry over to round two of auction.
You do not get extra funds.
For example , I spent 19mil on 4 players here. Means I can only spend 1mil after Sept 1.
Icy spend 20mil here so doesn't get a fifth player.
If one of your players gets sold in August, during/after R1 of the auction, you will get that money back and then you can replace him after Sept 1. So if you have Costa, but he gets sold on August 26, you then get whatever money you spent on him back but you can't spend it until the auction after Sept 1.
If you only pick up two players here that is fine, you will only have two players for the first couple of rounds but then you will be able to pick up a further three in the Sep 1 auction. Just be aware many of the good players will be gone!
However this is an interesting tactic, save your budget if you think there will be some big hitters coming in around deadline day and then you're in pole position to sign them in R2 of the auction.
In older editions we had the rule that money you get back from sold players can only be re-invested in players who were in the PL as of August 13 (the day that R1 of auction shut)
So lets say Costa gets transferred on deadline day. Vaughn gets 8.5mil back, but in older editions he can ONLY spend that 8.5mil on a player who was already in the PL as of August 13 (or whatever day R1 auction shuts)
What do you think of this rule? I reckon we scrap it. If you lose a player I reckon you should just be able to reinvest on whoever.

In hindsight a 1.5mil bid would have been better spent on him than Musa but both think they'll be pretty decent bargains

Someone asked about waiting for Pogba. I think is an excellent talent but I do not think it is worth waiting for him to sign to buy, although if he is your favourite player or something like that then that is a bit different. I think there is a few very good midfield buys that could be picked up relatively cheap right now. And if Pogba does not sign until after this first auction finishes then it might be possible to pick him up very cheap in the second auction.

In the old thread we had the rules: Quote:Also - you are NEVER allowed to be over budget. Even if you think you'll get outbid on one of your existing players, your bids can NEVER exceed 20m Every time you do that you will be docked 1million from your budget. No excuses, don't care. Don't bid beyond your means. Calculate first.
Similarly, you can't have bids on more than 4 players at one time. Again, if you do this you will be docked 1m every time you do it. This wasn't made clear in this thread so it is our fault. However, if you already have one player, it means you can only have bids active on 3 players. And if you've already spent 5mil you can't spend more than 15 on current bids. If that all makes sense. I think the easiest way to fix this is to overturn BETHFC latest post which had bids on Coutinho and Lukaku. If we take those away everything is fine.
