For eg. The A-league is no where near the level of top european leagues, so why should we do our own thing here when players can benifit so much better abroad. I don't hate the idea at all. I love europe. I freely admit it has the best leagues in the world.

It has recently slipped to about the 13th.

It is one of the best leagues for Australians to play outside the European big five, along with Portugal and Belgium. They have a good coaching system, that has value added to a small country. The Dutch curriculum is  being revamped.

All of Tommy Oar, Davidson and Holman have been better national team players for Oz in the Eredivisie than when they went to England.

There seems to be less and less money in it, but it is still a good step up from Oz.

@TheFans, The dutch league is still one of the best development leagues in europe Ajax, Feyenoord, PSV have a great track record of exporting its best talents to all leagues around europe so your wrong.

Have they lost their ways since the 90s and even early 2000's? Yes but still its got a great reputation as Decentric said they are revamping its youth development system again so we will probably see them produce top talent again like they once did in the distant future,
