Last year as in this season, the atmosphere hasn't changed. Attendance doesn't equate to atmosphere example MCG or crowd content.

That is your problem, you have only seen highlights, apart from the roar of a goal it becomes a library.

And it is funny you mention AFL stadiums, when they are using an athletics stadium which has the same problem as AFL stadiums, which is they are too big leading to shit atmosphere.

Exactly - deathly silent for the majority of their 1-0 win against Sunderland - the occasional outburst of swearing when a pass went adrift or a shot wide...  Big noise when they scored in the last minute...  This doesn't constitute an atmosphere.

Same thing happened to Southampton when they went from The Dell, which was very tight to the pitch, to St Mary's - took years for them to create an atmosphere there.

Hoping for West Ham's sake they can get the stadium reconfigured in at some point in the future.
