Trent Sainsbury. It's past the June 30 end of the loan period and Sainsbury was still in Milan getting treatment. It's not much - but there hasn't been any news about his plans. If he was good enough to get on the pitch in the last game surely they must be considering him at Inter. https://twitter.com/Tsainsbury92/status/881827505145073664

Think Stormzy's song was about Troisi now. Getting way too big for his boots.
Couldn't agree terms with a Premier League club? Who's he think he's good enough to play for and how much does he think he's worth?

+xThink Stormzy's song was about Troisi now. Getting way too big for his boots.Couldn't agree terms with a Premier League club? Who's he think he's good enough to play for and how much does he think he's worth? I was really confused when I saw that that was the reported reason for not going to Brighton. I'm with you on this. Wouldn't most players strive to be in the EPL? You can't get much better than that. Being in a promoted team could have also increased his chances of game time. It'll be interesting to see what develops. I would rather him not move to the MLS. If Brighton were interested, surely he could scope out interest from other clubs of a similar standing. The guy is currently uncontracted...surely any money would be better than none, right? :S

Ironically being a Premier League player would have meant his value would have increased longer-term, enabling him to cash-in in Asia once he decided to leave the EPL.
Feels very short-sighted from Troisi.

Feels very short-sighted from Troisi. yup. cant help his cause not staying anywhere for more than a season as well. the old sbs news story stated that brighton offered him $12k and he asked for $24k. aaron mooy is on $25k and will be leading the midfield. i dont know what troisi expects when there are question marks over whether he will even make the daily squad.

That there are question marks over whether he would make the daily squad could be the pertinent point. Troisi's team might have felt that 12K was an signal that Brighton saw him only as a bench player. If that's the case then I would prefer he did go to the MLS, which although not as high as the EPL is still a good level, in his search for regular playing time in the lead-up to the World Cup (if we get there).

What was he on at Victory? Surely you take that for a year knowing its probably your last shot to make it at a big league?

+xPretty sure the Chinese transfer window closes this weekend. The best news about this transfer window is that no one has signed for a chinese team. imagine they had the same foreigner rules 3 years ago. have you heard any news on robbie kruse?

If I recall correctly, Leipzig were looking at some younger players over here with interest. I'm sure they were scouting at least a couple of players already...does anyone else have anything more on this? I'm sure there was some Red Bull club that was interested in some Aussie players.

Trent Sainsbury linked with a move to Urawa Red Diamonds.
No doubt a big club in Japan, but I'm so convinced that he can find a much better league and team in Europe to ply his trade.

Spiranovic didn't have a good time at Urawa and I just think players with national team ambitions should steer clear of Asia in general.
Whilst the J-league is a good league, it just isn't as mature as the leagues in Europe.
The whole Asia experiment for Australian players has been a massive failure.

Cisak is trialing with Portsmouth at the moment. It could be a good move for him into an ambitious team. He was on loan there in 2012, so hopefully that puts a foot in the door for a move. It would be a step up from the League Two quality he faced last season (in the games he played).

Adam Federici - Looks like sydney have lost out with a number of Championship teams putting offers of the table. https://www.clubcall.com/bournemouth/aussies-admit-defeat-over-cherries-bid-1856581.html

With Federici likely to sign in the championship maybe Arnie's attention will turn to Birighitti. News is that Birighitti is now fourth in the pecking order at Swansea and it's definitely leaving - it's just a matter of where to.

Newcastle Jets forward Andrew Nabbout is on the brink of a life-changing move to UAE club Al-Dhafra after his breakout A-League campaign last year.

What a stitch up of a headline 442 posted. Got everyone's hopes up for a decent Italian defender and it turned out to be this spud.
