Also Adelaide's figure needs to consider that they have 2 away games to start the year. I know quite a few that are holding off as long as possible to delay the repayment amounts.

Not really a great excuse to be honest. We'd be talking a couple of hundred at the very best that are holding out due to this surely. Either way, what matters is the figure at the end I guess so we'll soon see. My figures are now starting to already be a little dated considering the latest updates with other clubs and I've made a request from Adelaide to see what their current tally is.

+x+xMembership update October 6 2017 Adelaide: 5323 Brisbane: 6258 CCM: 5256 Melb City: 9386 Melb Victory: 24025 Newcastle: 7542 Perth: 6555 Sydney: 12122 Wellington: 4200 WSW: 16365 Total: 97,032 Less than impressive - up by less than 0.2% on this time last year. With the context of a closer look, only 2 clubs really are tracking below where they have been at previous seasons - Adelaide and WSW. Roar are an exception and in their case they seem to be rising again in contrast to the understandable fan reticence recent seasons. The Roar are already reaching the highest membership mark they've had in some while. All the other clubs are tracking well and as expected are seeing surges now as supporters snatch up memberships late or take up the more flexible limited game packs (3 to 5 Game memberships). City are an example, growing by nearly 2k in the past week or so - perhaps the signing of McCormack has been a boost and their Home ground performance this evening would have helped too. Sydney are clearly pushing club record territory. Mariners, City, Victory, Jets, Glory and Phoenix are all keeping pace with previous marks and the Mariners, Glory and even Phoenix could be poised to set new records for their clubs. In Glory's case their aim is 10k members and while that may be a stretch at this point, like AU it's a while till Glory's first home game and Glory typically see a bump through limited game packages in this Oct/Nov period, so they're still a chance to push 9k. Phoenix have really surged with a late start and their club record is 5k though the club is almost there already. For the Mariners it's 6,250-ish - so easily within reach for them too. Even for Adelaide and the Wanderers, things might still change for them with possible late surges and fans hopping back on-board if the teams perform well in these opening rounds. The surges are only just kicking in Pat, so let's see how the numbers are come later this month or so. City surging past 10k already is a positive sign given how sluggish their growth was weeks prior.

+x97,189 at kick off last season so we are only 157 below that. Yeah and given AU and WSW are dragging on the numbers, if that weren't the case the A-League would be up on this point previous seasons, by around three thousand. So if they were meeting their marks of previous seasons then the A-League would have 100k already!

Thanks Davo. The FFA should be updating all the clubs' figures on their membership page tomorrow, going by previous weeks. Here's the FFA press release about Sydney FC passing their milestone as Robbos mentioned: https://www.a-league.com.au/news/sydney-fc-set-new-membership-record Sydney FC set new membership record Hyundai A-League champions Sydney FC have recorded record memberships for the fifth time in the last six seasons. On Thursday, the Sky Blues surpassed their Hyundai A-League 2015/16 Season record of 13,154, with the number set to rise even further over the season. Sydney FC’s target is 15,000 memberships which would result in a 20% increase year on year, while the current figures are more than double (119%) the number achieved six seasons ago (2011/12). “Our Members are the heartbeat of our club and are a major part of the Sky Blue family,” Sydney FC CEO Danny Townsend said. “To see the momentum they have helped build in the last six years is fabulous. Our aim is to reach new levels so to break our all-time Membership record this early is excellent news. “There is a lot more growth and progress ahead but this is a fantastic step forward.” Sydney FC’s membership boost comes after the club won the Premiership-Championship double last season. The Sky Blues are also into the Westfield FFA Cup final for the second straight year and will play either Adelaide United or Western Sydney Wanderers in the decider. Graham Arnold’s side have the first of three home games in the Hyundai A-League this Sunday when they host Wellington Phoenix at Allianz Stadium. The club has also already set a new record for Westfield W-League memberships despite the new season being over two weeks away.

Despite all the negativity those are pretty good numbers across the board. Only notable drops make sense (Wanderers playing in a bigger stadium so less fans feel the need to buy memberships/ Adelaide sucked balls last year).

Well done Sydney, surprisingly good numbers across all clubs - Central Coast and Perth look like they'll break their records, and I think Newcastle will get a boost given their team is pretty decent this year.
I imagine WSW will hit 20k a season once they get into that boutique stadium, Spotless is pretty shit.
What's going on with Adelaide? The only ones who seem to have dropped off dramatically.

If they host 2 derbies at Parramatta once refurbished, i'd expect at least 22k season ticket holders so they get a reserved ticket for these "must see" fixtures. It's the incentive that really help build the Wanderers into what they are today and it's solid membership culture.

The stadium will make a huge difference, atmosphere in there will be amazing so I agree, no reason why they won't get to 22k. Especially if they keep playing good football. They were untouchable in patches last week. Well done SFC too, 13k and counting.

+xWhat's going on with Adelaide? The only ones who seem to have dropped off dramatically. Basically not only were we absolute awful to watch last season, it came after our double winning season. The club recruited pooly from the start, fans were upset, the club came out and told us we were idiots and then we came last. Most facebook early off season chatter was encouraging people to not support the club with memberships if we don't recruit anyone, people were snarcy even when we would announce something, Griffin shat on Elrich etc etc it was a horrible year and a half for the club after such a high. They essentially undid all the good work and goodwill they had from the title winning season. It was a trainwreck. These numbers are as good as we could have hoped for really.

Having said that we do now have an exciting squad and as was mentioned start with 2 away games and 3-5 game memberships only went on sale recently.
I dare say they made up a good 65% of our last membership total. I believe historically we always had around 5.5k fully ticketed season members.

Yeah even rusted on fans were questioning whether to renew (myself included).
