+xSat TV #ALeague FOXonONE 99k (Metro 66k Regional 33k) Metro average 65,500 This time last year: 77,875 Over 22 thousand people are still searching for the channel. Many Aussie families are distraught by being unable to watch hotshot youngster Matt Simon tearing up a subpar national soccer league.

The Ashes has just started. The friggin BBL is yet to start.
It's gonna be a looooong summer.

Sun figures continue to hold up. Also interesting that the Matildas game was the lead in game. This year on Foxtel W-League games often lead HAL games. So on the weekend if you turn on FOXSPORTS you more or less know you are watching live Football.Maybe this helps viewers.Every sat and sun afternoon you are guaranteed live Football, while the W-League is on. If FOX can get an average rating over 60 all afternoon and evening maybe thats good, especially when it starts peaking above 80 and 90.

I read a tweet the other day from the US about their NFL or Gridiron, their crowds are down and TV Ratings both FTA & Cable are also down. Basketball, Baseball and Hockey the same. Only Football increased. It kinda led me on a bit of a journey and I came across the 2017 web submit. I have attached two youtubes both quite long and not at all aliened to sport both both reflecting what these people believe the future of broadcasting. BTW both reasonably long and if not interested in this kinda stuff don't listen. In the first one the fatter guy talks of the media in ages and I found iy interesting. Enjoy if interested. Waz I read that as well and if you look at the future of the web and media ... well its as the fat guy says in the first vid... media today is divided into ages and those that watch TV are mostly older, and cable and TV again mostly older... the under 35 market is mostly digital ... Our market is mostly under 35 ... We need a young CEO someone of high skill very familiar with both old but especially new media ... I would even consider Fozzie .... That web seminar clearly demonstrates where the future is in all media broadcasting .... clearly and this applies too me ... old bastards need to step aside and let a talented young group in... to run FFA ...

+x+xOur market is mostly under 35 ... We need a young CEO someone of high skill very familiar with both old but especially new media ... I would even consider Fozzie .... Craig Foster is all of 4 years younger than David Gallop OK .... but IMO the Boomers need to step aside and let a Millennial run it or a younger Gen X. IMO and this is a recognition that the old ways do not work for us.... we can't be successful on old media platforms as those who watch these platforms are already hot wired to their traditional sports. The Boomers in charge are trying to work and make a system work at their knowledge level when their market is at a millennial level in the main...so trying to fit Boomer media platforms to millennials will fail and fail badly .. 10 gives us 4 million a game ... IMO stream via facebook or other streaming will get far more than 4 million and reach a far greater audience. TheSelectFew has some some outstanding knowledge in this area .... he and his ilk need to be listened too. Personally now I would ditch 10 for facebook... Listen to those web 2017 seminars

Not disagreeing with the general idea, just pointing out going from a 52 year old to a 48 year old is hardly generational change. Just letting you know the facts, not having a go.

OK and accepted it as such when you posted ... but for me every survey says our supporters are in the main millennials ... so we need the best platform to connect to millennials ... For it became crystal clear when listening to those seminars ... and its actually marketing 101 ... go where your clients are...

This is the same midfielder who about 2 months ago was heralding channel TEN as the channel-of-choice for millennials, and suggesting TEN would bring in an upswing of 200-300k viewers. Now, he says scrap TEN, and replace Gallop with Fozzie. slow clap for middie

MidF proves his credentials with gems like: - at 1pm - "Personally now I would ditch 10 for facebook..." - at 3pm - "10 can still work..." a genius at work.

Sport is social Nobody I know form any age or generation has a "everybody crowd around my laptop so we can watch the game" People watch sport in pubs, or on ridiculously large HD TV sets. They love in game replays and hate ads The digital world may be changing lives but its a long way off from changing the way we watch sport. And given the fuck up that was the NBN roll out, getting the game through cable or antennae is as good as it gets for the majority of the population Football has needed no more or less than a consistent home on an FTA channel. Strong preference for HD. Strong preference for ad free. We got that and it rated exactly as could be expected (150k-175k in the opening rounds) The FFA should definitely be using digital as a means of reaching more people from a marketing point of view (once they get a better message than begging people to pick a team and watch the game). But it should not be a substitute for how the game is accessed
