+x+xThis year they've extended it by a couple of matches each team into regional areas, hurricanes are playing a game in Launceston in a few nights, but they were talking on the radio about extending it to a home and away season which the commentators I was listening to stated was overkill. They referenced the English version of BBL and how quickly it died through overkill. They also stated fears for what will happen to Sheffield Shield etc which have already been trimmed to fit BBL in. That's a nice way of saying we are not putting a team where you are but please continue to blindly follow the league.

Average for the season to date is 64k. At the same time last season it was 74k. At the same time 2 seasons ago it was 60k.
In both of the last 2 seasons the viewing figures for this period of the season were a fair bit higher than this season.

So only 1 channel ONE rating in the last 5 rounds Does any body have the figures for rounds 9, 11, 12 and 13? Has it even been said what the current average is?

In both of the last 2 seasons the viewing figures for this period of the season were a fair bit higher than this season. Going by my numbers Id say you're quoting 64k as the average not including the missing data. This isn't entirely fair. Those missing games didn't make the top 20, so the figure is below the 20th programme (usually below 33-34,000). Substituting the blanks for the best possible figure (ie what would be the highest possible figure outside the top 20) takes the season average to ~63k.

A-League Grand Final was the 10th(basically equal 9th) most watched sport on Foxtel with 367 000.

I thought the fact that the games are shown in hotels as they all have 501 would have made the difference

True figure is a fraction below 62k.

Lol just saw that evenings pay tv ratings, 94k watching real housewives of melboune on arena channel. Even a family guy rerun beat the top of the table clash.
What many believed to be the game of the year, myself included..yet nobody watched it.
Bet the hit and giggle pulled in a million on 10.

+x44k for top of the table clash? Yikes NB this is not an excuse for ratings, I'm just talking but I literally had no idea this was on. It's funny because not being at work for 11 days over xmas I didn't ever log into this forum. Being a United member I knew we had 2 home games in that period but that's it. The league honestly felt invisible and it's not like I hid under a rock for 2 weeks. I guess this forum is how I know the A League exists.

Its interesting that in the BBL that night, for a game between Sydney and Melbourne, the audience in Melbourne is twice that in Sydney. With the only people watching Melbourne housewives presumably being Melburnians, it would appear that Melbourne is leading the nation in shite, particularly when you add AFL in there.
