I have to admit, though i have the A League on record each game, its very hard to summon the energy to actually watch the games. Down to, maybe, one live game a week that I watch. Used to be all 5!

So the Chase started but any gains have gotten away already.

It seems harder and harder to get good ratings these days, which is not just football related but a broader symptom of the rise of other broadcasting and entertainment options.

The football numbers are dire though, which is certainly concerning.

Whether new teams will spice things up enough will be interesting to see, however adding teams every couple of years to maintain interest isn’t a viable option either.

There are certainly likely to be some very interesting discussions ahead, between all stakeholders of the game. The decisive politics hasn’t helped, along with the loss of players like Cahill from the league (add in his comments and it’s even worse).

It's a massive drop from last year.Two years and its already at HAL levels.I guess it proves even diehard fans can only take so much poor quality  of any sport ,even AFL diehards,before they switch off.

This clash is down 10k in attendance and from the looks of it 20-30k in tv figures. If the trend is leaguewide it becomes 40k off every game which is 200k a week of people refusing to watch and/or go to and A-League game.

The FFA played chicken with us on just about everything, so fuck them. Next year will be worse. If Lowy is gone at the end of it then it's at least for something.
