+x *UPDATE*TOTAL: 998k (Preliminary - FTA 5 city metro + regional + N-STV).Note: Will be time adjusted.[OzTam + RegTAM] That's a solid figure. Will go over 1,000,000 when adjusted for extra time.

Wow, people seriously just need to chill we have had 1 round and people are acting like this is the end of the world. We cannot compare ourselves as we DO NOT have the accurate, broken down geographic or demographic data, everything we say is mostly opinionated or pulled using suspect data sets. If my bosses told me they were expecting 15% growth in Real Estate revenues, I could find positives and negatives using that. We also have no idea of the expectations or metrics 10, Fox or FFA are using to measure the success.
IMO the result is not that bad and has quite a bit to work with. Ten came out and said they were happy with the result. That's good enough for me.

I still think the whole thing is debatable.
The early Sunday spot is available. I think WP have played it before. My question would be Why not play WSW at 3pm local time then WP at 7pm local time? Instead of both at 5pm local time. You may get more fans sticking around for the WP match after the WSW match that way... And I dont care if kids have school in NZ the next day.
It has always been the same, Fri and Sat nights are most popular.
If it were up to me :) I would have 3 & 1/2 & 1/2 time slots
Friday nights Saturday nights Sunday afternoons
Foxtel have signalled they are not interested in 3pm Saturday games.
Friday 7.20pm Friday 7.50pm
Saturday 7.20pm Satuday 7.50pm
Sunday 5.00pm
Where possible (taking in mind PG and WP)
Im not sure what the best formula would be, whether to have the better match to start 30 mins before or after the second match.
But break all matches into categories 1 - derbies etc 2- matches involving WSW SFC MV MC 3- NJ AU PG BR 4- WP, CCM macthes
So you dont put on or try not to put on high ranking games at the same time.
This is so people can change channel if a game is crap and it cheats the ratings. People dont have time to sit down and watch 5 games of football over a weekend.

+x+x+x+xFor me, the fact it is on One, is less significant than the fact it is on Saturday and you are getting a better product. People are losing there shot after one game. Why don't we see how the figures are going after the two big city derbies shall we? The second highest ever rating for an A League regular season game was the 188k Foxtel figure for the Sydney derby The derby figures wont be telling. Rounds 4 and 5 will be telling, as will when the summer sports start OK agreed, we will wait until round 5 before folding the league. Got nothing to debate so you are just being a cünt. Class act you are. What is there to debate about using more than one game as a truer gage? Calling people a c@nt... ..classy.

I'm confused. The highest single figure for viewers is the number for Ch10. They only showed that one game. That figure was not matched by Fox for any game.
That same figure of 10s was twice the total that actually attended all of the games combined. The biggest dud figure there is the number attending the MV in person. Did the missing 10k people stay home and watch it on 10?
I'd be more concerned about the number walking through the gate than the number watching it on 10.
Wanderers number is lousy.

+x+x117,000 - 63, 822 = 53, 178 .... 53, 178 / 63, 822 = 83% increase on the average ... That's not correct because you are comparing a metro figure against a metro and regional figure If you use the apples v apples 84k metro figure you barely get a 30% increase Actually, Mids table must include regional because on the metro only table that Wookie has provided the last two opening rounds are 93k and 59k

Either way, the figure was disappointing... 10's response was unexpected , it read like 10 think they can improve it ... thats not that hard THB ... but they [10] seem to think they can improve it. The under lying cause of the low ratings is interesting to theorise about ... you could take the easy option and blame FFA for everything or you could look deeper into it...

+x+xThere's a flaw in Saturday nights ratings somewhere. https://www.fourfourtwo.com.au/news/ten-ads-consistent-with-all-sports-on-free-tv-474948The spokesperson said Ten were “very pleased” with viewer numbers on Saturday. “The viewing was up 75 per cent on the average audience SBS achieved during the 2016/17 season,” they said. “Our coverage was No.1 in its timeslot in ONE's target market of men 25 to 54. It was a great start to our coverage of the A-League.” Viewing up 75% on the average SBS audience during the season?? That would make SBS' average 29k.. Impossible. Ratings wrong? 10 talking shit? SBS fudged their numbers? That would mean the average was 72.5k for SBS It would mean the metro average was 48k, or the combined average was 66.85k It also means they expect the same rating for each and every game

+x+xSpot on. Yes not fanstastic numbers, but by no means terrible either. They will hopefully improve with time on OneHD, with some help from cross promotion on Ten. I'd love to know what the numbers looked like for the NBL last season on OneHD, but pretty sure they were no way near 100k, infact they were only around 20-30k on SBS Viceland on the weekend. Baby steps people, let's crawl before we can walk. Most people didn't even know the games were on, due to the lack of promotion to the start of this season. FFA once again doing chocking the game instead of promoting it for it to grow. The suits only look after themselves. SBS managed to get 215k metro in their season opener with a Sydney and Melbourne team with the same level of build up. Not only that but there was no cross promotion during the project and Bathurst (ie- "nobody knew it was on"). If you add the Fox figure you get 337k, pushing about 380k if you also add what the regional figure may have looked like That was the reality of our sport before the FFA fucked it up, and stormed away from $5m and ad free HD coverage with a dedicated panel. Not to mention what Fox may have offered if they retained exclusive rights to Saturday games Crawl before walk? You are talking like this is the first season of FTA coverage The figures were absolutely fucking terrible. 6k bigger than SBS's worst ever season opener which was a Friday night game and didn't have the biggest teams, after the biggest dummy spit this game has seen. Less than last season, and at a real cost to the code One of the things said about the FFA is there is no accountability. They can fuck up time and time again but with 100% control of the game they can forgive themselves. Put together a pretty little speech like you have done (don't be surprised if you see excerpts of it during the next FFA press release) Where was the willingness to accept the figures and work towards growth when SBS had the game? Some people just wanted the game to be on channel 7, 9 or 10. That was the answer, now they have it Enjoy your watermark because we paid a lot of money for it Amen. If we don't ring the alarm bells now when do we?
