I have been hoping they would dump him for a while now, listening to him speak was unbearable. I literally put mute on every time he spoke.

Also now it makes a lil more sense the fact that both Bozza and Slater have been so outspoken about the sacking of Ange, in hope that the extra headlines may boost interest and ratings and increase their brands. Obviously hasn't worked.

After I looked into this, Rudan was well out of order. 

Not hard to fall in love with Mel, especially if you are in her Inner Circle.

I would think there is a grain of truth in this, if only for the reason they're not actually doing much work anymore. They used to go all night with preier league coverage. Take away EPL and what do you do, get paid the same amount to talk about HAL for 2 hours?

Yeah fair point. Definitely a content issue for Bozza and Slater. 
Rudan however was never on the panel for EPL (i don't believe) so I wouldn't say it was content related but probably inside shakeup/payback for hi behavior perhaps. He wasn't bad on the panel, was very serious and not very bubbly.

Good point.  Makes sense entirely.  Surprised about Rudan though.  I thought his analysis comments added value.  Bozza and Slater are ex players.  Rudan is an ex player and a current coach.  

Shame about Mel and the stalker.  I thought she was a lovely girl when I met her.  Very down to earth and easy to talk to.  I hope her new BF turns out OK.  The form guide doesnt look good, but people can change.

Rudan is good for the tactical components but yes ultimately not having the EPL meant Bozza and Slater had less work to do, so can get paid less and do more HAL work making Rudes a little less essential.
A part time female analyst or two couldn't hurt, especially seeing how popular our code is beocming with females. Barbieri I imagine would be one. Gill the other? De Vanna?

I think Barbieri did some Matildas commentary fairly recently. It was unprofessional and awful. Wasn't even commentary about the game. Just kept name dropping (or worse, nickname dropping) and talking only about the Oz players.

Kate Cohen is one of the best football analysts. They should give her a go.

Rudes does bring in the other angle which brings great balance BUT 2 company 3's a crowd I guess.

The worst of it all is the match callers when they keep talking about every but the game and just rant on about their opinions. That is what the pre post and half time is for.

Agreed, probably the most annoying thing, you'll be watching and enjoying the game and half way there dribble you wonder what the heck they are even talking about. Certainly nothing to do with the game at hand and sometimes completely not even football related :laugh:

Can't stand it either when commentators go off on tangents. Harper does it plenty of times. 

I actually wish commentators were a little more animated rather than so laid back. Sometimes it feels as though they are commentating a round of golf. It certainly doesn't draw people in. AFL probably do it excessively, but you can see the intent, and it works imo. Football commentators from other countries get it right, so it's not the sport it's the people manning the commentary that need to learn to adapt.

Yes, the commentators must add value to the game. I'll always remember Rabbits Warren on League. He could make a dead boring, one sided game sound exciting! Simon Hill is the best of the Fox commentators, the others really offer nothing insightful.

Shame about Rudan, always thought he is one of the best pundits they have. Very insightful and goes against the opinions of the more experienced presenters rather than just agreeing with everything like some do. As for the female workers, lets hope their more like Mel and less like Tara as even though Rushton has been at Fox a few years now I still think she is well below average, particularly on the sideline where she is awful.

Can't stand interviewers who do the old, "How did it feel to score the winner?". Obviously it felt good, we know that.

Or those half time interviews when the players are out of of breath and cant be stuffed answering stupid questions. 

The presenter for the W-league is really good. Amy Duggan. I personally think she's better than Tara or Mel.

ALSO she's a former Matilda so can do presenting and analysis. Win-win.

Andy Paschalidis who was going to be on Fox Sports when the A League first commenced but was bumped for Robbie Slater.

This doesn't make sense - Paschalidis is a play-by-play and Slater is an analyst commentator.

Dom Rinaldo is shocking. He should stick to radio.
