The only part of this whole thing that is "covert" is the location of the basement that the writer dwells within

Muscat cannot and wiil not manage the roos. Too many people would stop following their country, many would likely move out. He'd be the manager most likely to start a war, the trump of Australian football.

My mate was down in Valletta a few years back. Brought me back some of the best salt I have ever tasted.

The current FFA honchos won’t be around soon to make this decision anyway, even if it is true.

A bit annoying our continental cup is so close to a world cup. We need someone for the next two tournaments. UAE 19 will be an enjoyable one and I want to perform well

+xA bit annoying our continental cup is so close to a world cup. We need someone for the next two tournaments. UAE 19 will be an enjoyable one and I want to perform well Exactly,,, if the 'interim coach' rumour part is true, then I do hope the interim period goes until after the Asian Cup 2019. We someone that can lead the boys to play well at the World Cup, get out of the group stage if that can be done. And with that momentum, improve in time to defend the Asian Cup. I would think any coach (if not Australian) would move on after the Asian Cup. Now beyond this, then we could look at an Australian coach if thats the popular choice to guide the team through a two year World Cup qualification campaign, and possibly also an Asian Cup qualification campaign (if we are no longer the reigning champions).

Yeah, I'm taking this with a grain of salt for now. Then a bucketload after he's appointed.

+x+x+xAbsolutely fantastic news if true. I assume you mean for Victory 1. Good for MV. 2. Good there is a Euro coach for WC 3. Hilarious the shit storm it will create. I'm more concerned about his ability than anything else. Apart from a very good 15-16 season what has he achieved? The fact you say "good for MV" says it all.

That 'very good season' saw his team make the opposition look like U17's kids. Last year he took an average team to a loss on penalties in the GF to 'The greatest HAL team ever'. His record over the past few years would be as good, if not better than most of the other Australian candidates thrown around, despite it being his first years coaching. Don't get me wrong, I don't think hes the right person for the Socceroos because he still has a lot to learn, but the talking down of him as if he's not a very good manager despite his limited experience is baffling.

I guess you're right, apart from winning every single trophy, making the final last year and taking it to extra time, getting the club's best ever run in ACL what has he achieved?

Fair points, though it seems some Victory fans don't share your view. I'm always going to be biased against his potential appointment. Robert Mugabe could coach the Socceroos for all I care as long as he got results.
