No, Ange achieved all that, winning Asian Cup, being champs in Asia and getting to the World Cup, while Gallop was agitating along with the other FFA flounderers. Ange put up with them but stuck to it, to get to the WC - not the dunny.

Steven would be happy enough that. A-League was always going to be down the list of priorities. You can say he should have done more all you like, but to say he has achieved nothing is rubbish. Even the majority of staff who worked on the Asian Cup were contractors, not FFA staff. He played as an important part in the other two as I or anyone else on this forum did. Bloke failed at the NRL and has continued here. Also to say that hosting the Asian Cup, which he will only host every 20+ years, is more important than our national league is ridiculous.

What this discussion shows is FFA have some success at non HAL activities.Which kind of supports what a lot of us want.
Let FFA manage the rest of the game ,but not the HAL.

Gallop has coasted in this role... in effect , he has taken no risks or looked to innovate...it is a conservative approach which is commons with C level exec who dont want any baggage hanging over them when they want to move to a new role...

+xGallop has not only achieved fark all during his time as CEO, but the game has gone massively backwards. And he is paid something like $1.3M+ per year for his efforts. I repeat, he is paid something like $1.3M+ per year. Wow! What a waste of money! I'd love to find out that Gallop has been successful in some aspect of his tenure, but ATM it is as though he is a rugby league plant employed by the NRL to take football backwards. Yet we have no Technical Director for senior football since Berger left. We need one pronto instead of a useless CEO who costs 1.3 mill. There must be some sports administrators with accounting or legal backgrounds who would charge 20 percent of Gallop's salary and who could still do a better job.

I'd love to find out that Gallop has been successful in some aspect of his tenure, but ATM it is as though he is a rugby league plant employed by the NRL to take football backwards. Yet we have no Technical Director for senior football since Berger left. We need one pronto instead of a useless CEO who costs 1.3 mill. There must be some sports administrators with accounting or legal backgrounds who would charge 20 percent of Gallop's salary and who could still do a better job. Isnt the Belgian Abrams our TD? i hardly hear from him in the media i wonder if he's made a puppet man for someone above him? The structure needs some sorting i feel.

The A-league is a phoney fake league. Can’t blame Gallop for the set-up as it was not his idea to boot out all the pre-existing clubs before the league was established and implement a closed shop 10 team round robin kick in the park.
I can see the board saying “we need more marketing....more marketing”, like that SNL sketch with Will Ferrell and the cowbell.

The Board of Football Federation Australia (FFA) has announced that the contract of CEO David Gallop has been extended until the end of 2018.
The decision was taken at the FFA Board’s most recent meeting on 29 January 2015.
Gallop joined FFA in November 2012 on a four-year contract after a decade as the CEO of the National Rugby League (NRL).
The extension will see Gallop remain in charge until after the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.
FFA Chairman Frank Lowy AC said the Board was unanimous in reaching the decision to extend Gallop’s contract.
“David’s tenure since November 2012 has coincided with a period of stability, growth and innovation in Australian football, driven by initiatives that the CEO and his team have managed with great skill and care,” said Lowy.

He has little say in the senior game. Abrams responsibility is for the development pathway under 15 and coach education. Casserly did a review on the structure and Ange was given the role of the supervision of all the men's national teams, Stajic all the women's teams and Abrams was employed for the role with younger players.
