Czechs are not very happy

Historic debacle from Australia. Czech footballers got a scuppy four in preparation
ST.PöltenThis is a disgrace.Czech footballers suffered a 0: 4 debakl in Australia in a preliminary match in Austria, preparing for the World Championship in Russia. The four goals lost the Czech team for the first time in their history.Last time she lost four goals as well as Czechoslovakia in 1985 with the then team of West Germany.

The Australian participant in the upcoming World Championship was more accurate in combination, and helped by the mistaken Czech footballers Tomas Kalas and Jakub Jugas, who also gave their own goal.Mathew Leckie won twice.Andrew Nabbout also played.Australia won the Czech Republic or Czechoslovakia for the first time in history, and for the first time since September 2016 it has succeeded outside the home court.
The Czechs will have a chance to be retired on Wednesday.Again in Austria, they will play a match with Nigeria, for which it will be a general at the World Cup, while for the Czech team the last preparation before the autumn League of Nations.
The Czechs were on the offensive with the aim of attacking the Australian starting point, but the Dutch coach Berta van Marwijk was very well combined and often escaped.Especially on their left side they attacked several times, but the Czech defense, led by Kalaso, was ready. On the other hand, Kopic was the most active player in the home league, which often made his way to the back of the pass. One of them got into a chance, but Sainsbury was able to block him.In another chance, Kopic did not shoot the outgoing goalkeeper Ryan.In the 21st minute Hušbauer took the ball in front of the goal, but he got to Barak, but he shot from the angle. On the other hand, Australia had a great combination at 32 minutes.Risdon's backslaid center returned to Kruse's small lime, and Leckie's goal was uncovered. The goalie Koubek didn't have a chance to stop it.The Czechs tried to do something with the result, but they were hard to get into the chances. It did not help even half-time Schick's move to the point of the Krmenčík because most of the events ended in the pre-final stage. On the other hand, in the 54th minute, Jugas only scored for Nabbout, and the Japanese Urawas striker did not fire.Koubka burned down the ground for the second time.In 72 minutes, Kalas risky kicked off the break of an opponent, at the end of which Leckie stuck to Jugas and a shot through his legs headed to a close pole.Koubek reached the ball, but he did not prevent him from going through the goal. And the stunning day of the Czech defense made Jugas his own goal when a shot center behind Koubek's back.At least the right hit could be scored by Novák or Sýkora, but they did not succeed in the chances.

Danish and French media have reported on our result. The reports definitely respect we did quite well and their teams need to be wary. Better than than something talking us down.

Doubt France are too worried but I'm sure it raised an eyebrow or two for Denmark and Peru.

If the Czech press are truly annoyed it shows we did pretty well.

Hopefully it means the French wouldn't just roll us over and give us some respect

Bert very happy with Risdon
He also seemed happy with what Rogic was doing. I've only seen highlights and read comments but i imagine Rogic played to the game plan and that was what pleased him.

It's a point lost on a lot of people. Tactically it can look like a player isn't getting themselves involved etc despite the fact that they're doing exactly as the manager has asked and its the fault of others for not finding them - and whether that's the case with Rogic in this match only the coaching staff will know.

So I watched the replay....and;

- Milligan hit the target close to 100% of the time: saw a lot of it and picked the right pass most times....won the ball at some key moments......outstanding performance.

- 1st goal....build up play began from the backline(literally) and involved 19 passes prior to Leckie knocking it in; haven’t seen this in a long while

-Luongo and Mooy combined well....Rogic also underrated by many

- Leckie’s second all started with MClaren’s applied pressure on the defender forcing an errant pass and the turnover on the half way line.....he sprints away from Mooy giving him space to dribble into and unleash the killer pass

the second half especially was very pleasing to watch....credit to the boys and BVM....may it continue

Was a strange game. Didn't think we dominated by any stretch of the imagination as the scoreline would suggest, but boy were we burying chances, probably helped that their defence/gk was sub-par.

There were some shambolic defensive mistakes by our boys in the first half, the sort of mistakes that if made against France, will put us 2 or 3 down by half-time. Still, it was nice to see a build in confidence as the game wore in. We definitely looked alot surer of ourselves in that second half. Hope we can carry on the form onto the next friendly and ultimately into the France game.

It seems like Risdon has really worked very hard on his fitness the past 4-5 weeks.. he really got up and down the pitch well and it made a huge difference in his performance IMO... looked up to international level the other night whereas previously for Aus he really did not IMO, partly because he could not respond  to changes in possession 2 or 3 times in succession

Good on him for putting in the work, i hope he has a good tournament

He impressed me. Always thought he was a decent A-League player but not up to international standard. Looks like he's improving but still worried about our full backs against France. Denmark and Peru I'm not concerned and think we can match it.

Considering how important every single group stage match game is I doubt any team is going to  "disrespect" anyone else.

Spain lost to Switzeland in 2010 in their opening group game after winning euro 2008.. sometimes bigger nations assume they will get 3 points in these games... this was a swiss team that almost lost to honduras a few days later..

Really enjoyed watching the Socceroos after quite a break.

4-0 flattered Australia though. Czechoslovakia were the better side in the first 30 mins.

Has anyone questioned why BvM has chosen two opponents who haven't qualified for the WC where as everyone else is playing fellow teams who have qualified. These two opponents are two hard to judge at this time of year.

Pretty valid point. I couldn't believe how bad the Czech's were.. but then again they were on holidays, most of the players were either new trying to break into the NT, or players who didn't really care too much.

Pure speculation however seeing as though Australia were second last to qualify for the World Cup then I imagine by then all of the "better" opponents may have been booked for friendly matches so it was a case of that's who was left.  Nothing wrong with these two opponents mind you.

BvM understands that most of the team struggle to score - our team needs goals to build confidence.. its why you see 12-0 drubbings weeks before the bundesliga starts.. because the Germans understand how goal scoring can affect confidence..  id rather see us pump some euro no bodies than get spanked by Belgium 2 weeks out from a world cup..

Their winger started in the UCL semi-final you think hes happy losing to championship players? it was also an opportunity for their keeper to step up and become Cech's successor.

Oh we pumped them.

I kinda compare this win to the wins Scotland National Team gets against bigger national sides.

There is some definite quality in our side, it just needs a lot more competitive minutes played in much larger competitions to really cement some confidence into our better players.

I feel anyway - players like Maclaren, Juric.. et al. Even players like i.e. Brilliante

While you would have to admit overall their motivation wouldn't have been as great as ours, you could see in the faces of a lot of the individuals they were angry and not happy to be losing. Professional footballers don't get to where they are coz they like losing.

It's also disingenuous for everyone to say we should have been down 3-0 by half hour. Why is it whenever we play a team, we expect they, or the next team, will score 100% of their half decent chances?

They then go on to discount that we could have also scored another few if the final pass or shot had been slightly different too.

Because thats what we do. Focus on the negative and talk down the positive. We are Strayans.
