Rothfield reckons Bennet is sniffing around us. Let's be clear with a resounding NO!

Understand all he's interested in is the SC space, which he'll spend and then f*** off in 3 years leaving us the bill. He has NIL interest in the club, only in an all or nothing tilt at a title which I don't think he's all that capable of any more.

He'd leave a bigger mess than Des did for the same reasons.

Only reasons Bennett would be interested is because he knows Pay has done a lot of the hard yards on the rebuild and cap management, and he knows we have money to spend..

In other words it is an easier gig, like Des he recruits his favourites, is a negative defensive orientated coach and relies on players with talent and judgement to drive the attack.
The only plus is he is more hands off than Des in attack, Des thinks he is playing chess sometimes... 
 
Both are good at motivation, defence, discipline  and can get results with a talent squad....

I just think Bennett has reached his used by date... he probably dated my Grandma in the roaring 20s, if he did he would not have lasted this long... she knew how to party... which is the old adage do one thing and do it well, taken to extremes... she would have got bored with Wayne halfway through the first drink., but would have hung around for the 50th...

I would dismiss him as easy as Zef.

I dont know you guys are so quick to praise the appointment of an untried Dean Pay yet you are equally quick to dismiss one of the most successful coaches thr game has ever seen. 

Shall I remind you he has won 6 from 7 premierships and the only 1 he lost was in golden fucking point!!

Oh...and he has won them across 3 decades....

Bennet's track record is is full of him using clubs for his profile and his price.

Remember he was ll tied up to Easts early 00's, then the story gets out (which he probably leaked) and he gets all high and mighty and surprise surprise gets an upgrade and extension at The Broncs. The Dragons thought they were getting him back two years, just a signature required they think, then surprise surprise now he's going to The Panthers (all of this played out in the press) but he ain't finished shafting clubs yet, now he's off to Souths - the job he really wanted in the first place.

He will f***in' play you, play any club, with no shame - as long as it keeps him in profile to hype demand.

And even if he comes to your club, his heart's not in it, his heart's still and always will be with The Broncs. They are the ONLY club he's ever been interested in BUILDING, Anywhere else he goes he just wants the quick 3 year tilt and f*** what he leaves behind.

It is always hard to say if a coach will get results at a new club, we were all optimistic abut Des initially and Moore and built a fairly good squad, Des got everything he wanted and we had talent players like Taupau, Finucane and Cook go elsewhere and show us exactly how talented they were,  and in most cases that was no big surprise.... we had other talent players come and go, Des got everything he wanted..

That formula worked for the club with Wok, and it has worked for other clubs at other times.... lots of times it hasn't worked. 

Like Des I don;t think Bennett suits our club, Bellamy and Robinson would, the Storm and Roosters are similar to a Bulldogs culture and mentality... in fact both a copied a lot of our best work. But it will be a miracle if we could get Bellamy or Robinson..

If Bulldog fans where given an option of 1 premiership every 8 -10 years they'd take it with both hands without a second thought. 

Even if you told them we would miss finals for 4 years in between - they'd still take it.

Why? Cos its why we exist. We exist to win titles.
You might enjoy a team like Norths who notoriously were in the top 4 for a whole decade but never won a title, or you can prefer the Bulldogs who would win a title and fail miserably the following year (88 to 89, 95 to 96, 04 to 05).

If Bennett comes and leaves in 3 years but delivers a premiership I'd be happy. Even if he left the place like Des did (can hardly imagine he is capable).

I know I know....you'll point to Newcastle etc. It wasnt just Bennett that stuffed the Knights...it was their management, their structure (ownership woes) , their culture (drugs) and of course the Alex McKinnon incident that sent shockwaves within the club. 

If it's a call between Bennett and another established and heralded coach, I think we can pick and choose

...but if theres no other decent candidates to consider, I think it's a no brainer. Mo matter how bad you think he can leave the joint.
